This immersive journey from Chiang Mai to Yangon "Thailand to Myanmar" takes you through northern Thailand's cultural treasures and Myanmar's iconic sites, blending heritage with scenic beauty. Start by exploring the ancient temples of Lamphun and Lampang, including the revered Wat Haripoonchai and Wat PhraDhat Lampang Luang, famous for its Emerald Buddha. Experience the old-world charm of Lampang with a unique horse-drawn carriage ride, then continue to Sukhothai’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, showcasing the best tourist cities in Thailand.

Venture to Mae Sot, Thailand’s border town known for its lively market and the reclining Buddha at Wat Thai Wattanaram. Crossing into Myanmar, explore Hpa An’s majestic limestone caves and panoramic views of Zwekabin Mountain. Continue to Kyaiktiyo, where the sacred Golden Rock, delicately balanced on a cliff edge, offers spiritual awe and panoramic views. En route to Yangon, discover Bago’s Buddhist wonders, the impressive Shwe ThaLyaung Buddha, and Kyaik Pun Pagoda's four giant statues. This route promises an unforgettable blend of history, spirituality, and breathtaking landscapes, highlighting Thailand’s and Myanmar’s rich cultural heritage cities to visit in Thailand.

Day 1 : Chiang Mai – Sukhothai (- / L / D)

Depart from Chiang Mai to Lampoon, visit famous Wat Haripoonchai in Lampoon, built in 1157 one of the most sacred monuments in the north. Proceed to Lampang, visit Wat PhraDhat Lampang Luang, housing the only Emerald Buddha other than the one at Wat PhraKeo in Bangkok.

Continue to visit Wat PhraKeo Don Tao, a very interesting Burmese-style temple, plus Wat Chedi Sao, with its many small pagodas. Afterwards, enjoy a horse drawn carriage, one of the most memorable symbols of Lampang through the old town.

Lunch at local restaurant. Afterwards, continue drive to Sukhothai Province. 

Arrive at Sri Satchanalai, northern outpost town of the Kingdom of Sukhothai.  Visit Wat Chang Lom, Wat Chedi Jet Thaew, Wat Nang Phya and Wat Phra Sri Ratana MahaDhat on the site of the Khmer fort "Chalieng”.

Proceed to Sukothai. Dinner at the resort.

Overnight at Sukhothai.

Day 2 : Sukhothai– Mae Sot (B / L / D)

Breakfast at hotel. Depart for Sukhothai, visit famous ruins of Thailand’s first capital (1257-1379). See Wat MahaDhat, the Ramkamhaeng Museum (closed on Monday), Wat Sra Sri and Wat Sri Chum. Continue to Tak province. 

Lunch at a local restaurant. 

After lunch, drive towards the Burmese border passing mountain ranges and small local communities. Finally, reach the border town of Mae Sot. The town is notable as a trade hub and for its substantial residents of Burmese refugees. Time to discover the local market and the traditional trading along Moei River. Afterwards, visit Wat Thai Wattanaram with its giant 45 meter reclining Buddha statue. The temple was originally known as Wat Thai Yai as the construction of the temple was greatly influenced by Burmese culture and Mahayana Buddhism. 

Dinner at the resort.

Overnight at Mae Sot.

Day 3 : Mae Sot Town – Hpa An (B / L / D)

Breakfast at hotel. Depart for Mae Sot – Myawaddy border where you will be welcomed by the Myanmar Asian Trails guide.

Upon arrival Myawaddy, visit around the town and market before proceed to drive (approximately – 6 hrs) to Hpa-An, the capital of the Kayin State. 

On arrival in Hpa An, transfer to hotel. Lunch is at a local restaurant en-route and dinner is at hotel in Hpa An. 

Overnight at Zwekabin Hotel.  

Day 4 : Hpa An (B / L / D)

After breakfast we enjoy the first impression of the town and then visit Bayinnyi and Kawgoon caves which are set inside limestone rock formations. Lunch is at a local restaurant. We then stop at Lake Kantharyar for a sublime view over distant Zwekabin Mountain – Kayin state’s landmark. 

Dinner is at a local restaurant.  

Overnight at Zwekabin Hotel.  

Day 5 : Hpa An - Kyaikhtiyo (B / L / D)

After breakfast we depart Hpa An to travel 120 km to Kyaiktiyo to see the famed sacred Golden Rock, a huge boulder covered with gold leaf and precariously balanced on the edge of a cliff. To reach the rock from Kin Pun ‘base camp,’ we negotiate a steep 11 km road that leads to the upper staging point. Please note that the journey is made in open trucks which are less comfortable than conventional vehicles. The upper area to the rock must be made on foot. We proceed up a steep path ascending 500 metres to the rock on the summit of the mountain.

On arrival you will enjoy stupendous views over the surrounding rainforest and rocky terrain, plus a sublime sunset. 

Dinner is at hotel. 

Overnight at Mountain Top Resort.

Day 6 : Kyaikhtiyo - Yangon (B / L / D)

After breakfast we set off on the drive to Bago. Sightseeing in Bago commences with a visit to one of the Buddhist monasteries. We then continue to the 55-metre long reclining Shwe ThaLyaung Buddha – one of Myanmar’s most impressive reclining statues.

Next is the four giant Buddha statues at Kyaik Pun Pagoda. We then stop at an Allied War Graves Cemetery near Htauk Kyan to see the country’s war history, followed by a religious experience at a nat tree shrine. Upon arrival back in Yangon we transfer to hotel. 

Lunch is served at local restaurant en route and dinner is at hotel. 

Overnight at Melia Hotel.

Day 7 : Yangon (B / L / -)

After breakfast we enjoy an extended visit to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world’s most spectacular monuments and an icon of Myanmar. Next is exploration of Bogyoke (Scott's) Market (closed on Monday and public holidays) to browse the abundance of food, clothes, handicrafts and gems stores. 

Lunch is at a local restaurant and then we transfer to the airport for the international departure.

Our local expert who accompanies you are delighted to show you his/her island city to appreciate the beauty of nature, history and architecture of Phuket's oldtown and try out Phuket specialty and will serve you the best of Phuket experience. The trip features to most southern of Phuket Island to Promthep Cape, it looks like a curve cape extending into the Andaman Sea. It is surrounded by palm trees and grasses. On the right side is Nai Harn Beach and Koh Man. On the left side, you will see a small beach called Nai Yah beach.

Next to visit the Big Buddha is one of the most important and revered landmarks on the island. The huge image sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills, this buddha image is a stunning piece of contemporary art which measures in at 25.45 meters wide and 45 meters in height. The image is made from reinforced concrete and covered in white and jade ‘Suriyakanta’ marble which also affords great views over Chalong Bay from the front face of the image and of Kata, Karon and other smaller bays to the rear.

Then a visit to the acclaimed Chalong Temple; famed for its Portuguese architecture. Loved by both Asian and foreign visitors, the temple's highlight is a wax sculpture of the abbot housed in an air-conditioned Thai-style house next to the chapel. Then drive to Phuket Old Town, visit beauty elegant architecture buildings reflecting European influence in the early 20th, take you back to a charm of a century ago.

  • 10.45 : Pileh Lagoon – Known as “Swimming Pool in the Sea”, enjoy swimming in the emerald green water surrounded by limestone mountains. 
  • *Optional need to book in advance: Hop on the long-tailed boat, getting close to the real locals’ ways of life on Phi Phi Island, take photos on Pileh Bay, and indulge in the amazing Andaman Sea.
  • 12.15 : Viking Cave- Cruising and taking photos of Viking Cave or known as Phraya Nakarat Cave with the swallows nests concession inside, enjoy snorkeling among various kinds of fish along the coral reef.
  • 13.20 : Monkey Bay – Sightseeing adorable monkeys on the forested cliff along the seaside.
  • 13.30 : Ton Sai Bay – Lunch time at TonSai Seafood beach-side restaurant on Phi Phi Don, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, relax, take photos, and feel free to roam around the island.
  • 14.30 : Bamboo Island – Heading to Bamboo Island, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Andaman Sea, long curved beach with powdery white sand with astonishing beauty, enjoy swimming and relax on the beach.
  • 15.30 : Time to say goodbye to the island of beautiful nature – Depart from Bamboo Island to our pier.

Moving to try unique Phuketian food O TAO selected by Michelin Found only in Phuket, O Tao is a unique stir-fried dish made with seafood and battered taro. Cooked over a charcoal flame, the textures and flavours are well-balanced and the smoky aroma very pleasing. Prepare to arrive early, as crowds gather nightly. Fried oysters are also available. 

Continue on your culinary adventure by walking and around Classical Phuket Old Town to observe the night life of living. Street food and food shop that open until midnight is almost everywhere in Phuket town area. Taking picture of heritage building at night while learning about its culture before zipping local soft drink with storytelling from our local guide. Phuket viewpoint is included in the tour for taking picture. 

The day will end with typical Thai Desert and Typical Phuketian desert at Suan Luang Area. Try local Roti , created as a communal pancake , all roti here comes from one huge charcoal flat pan, and one guy shapes, fries, taps and cuts faster than the eye can see. Order code numbers stand for the number of roti to eggs. Don't miss the tender beef curry, which is also good. Sweet desert with ice called O aew which originally introduced by Phuket people is your last menu for today before send you back to hotel.
