Khao Sok Travel Guide

Khao Sok National Park, located in Southern Thailand, is a stunning natural reserve known for its lush rainforest, dramatic limestone mountains, and the serene Cheow Lan Lake. The park is part of the larger Khao Sok-Lam Ru Protected Area, which encompasses over 739 square kilometers.

Getting There :

By Air: The nearest airports are Surat Thani (about 120 km) and Phuket (about 150 km). From either airport, you can take a bus, taxi, or private transfer to Khao Sok.

By Bus: Direct buses run from Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, and Surat Thani to Khao Sok. The journey from Bangkok takes around 12 hours, while from Phuket, it takes about 4 hours.

Best Time to Visit :

Dry Season (November to April): Ideal for hiking and exploring the park as the weather is more predictable.

Wet Season (May to October): The rainforest is at its lushest, and waterfalls are more impressive, but trails can be slippery, and some activities may be restricted.
