OVERVIEW

This Sri Lanka journey begins with a relaxing arrival in Negombo, followed by a transfer to the wilds of Wilpattu. Here, guests enjoy local tea amidst nature, take a farming tractor tour of a nearby village, and experience a thrilling safari in Wilpattu National Park. After exploring the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the adventure continues with a stay at Gal Oya, where a boat safari offers glimpses of swimming elephants. The trip proceeds to Hatton, where a guided tea plantation tour reveals the secrets of Ceylon's tea industry. The journey concludes with leisure at Kosgoda, including a beach day and a historical tour of the Galle Fort.

Day 02 : Wilpattu 

Transfer to Wilpattu (03Hours 26 Mins Approx)

High Tea in Local Style at Wilpattu :

Enjoy a local style High Tea with a view of the surrounding nature during the sunset while we serve you freshly prepared local snacks, cakes and Tea. It is a great experience for you to relax amidst the nature.

Day 03 : Wilpattu 

A village experience on a Farming Tractor lead by a villager :

Today you will be accompanied by a villager for a Farming Tractor ride through the bordering village of Wilpattu ending with a river bath. The journey takes you through a Sri Lankan rural village with a few stops to experience closer and firsthand the lives of rural Sri Lankans. The tractor will proceed through the village and will stop over for a river bath experience with a picnic lunch experience. A bath in this river could be possible If the weather and water levels do not hinder. We offer traditional and village-style tea and snacks during the village tour.   Time - Morning or Afternoon. After breakfast or after 4 pm. Duration - 1 to 2 hrs.

Safari in Wilpattu National Park :

Packed with exciting wildlife, Wilpattu is waiting to be explored! The varying habitats have attracted many species of wildlife, both resident and migrant. 31 species of mammals have been identified; some of them being Leopard (a favorite amongst visitors), Sloth Bear, Elephant, Spotted and Barking Deer, Sambur, Wild Boar and even Crocks. It is also home to an abundance of endemic birdlife such as the Jungle Fowl, Painted Stork, Owl, Terns, Gulls, Eagles, Heron and the winter migrants who home for short periods within the nature reserve.

Day 04 : Gal Oya

Transfer to Sigiriya (02 Hours 17 mins Approx)

Exploration of Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Sigiriya Rock Fortress was built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century. Today you can witness the ruins of his castle on top of Sigiriya Rock, Swimming pools, ponds and gardens dotted with many ponds. This is an architectural marvel and one of the most photographed monuments.

Transfer to Gal Oya (04 Hours Approx)

Day 05 : Gal Oya 

A walk of discovery with the chief Veddha :

Roam around the ancient town of Kandy where the last King's of Sri Lanka ruled the island. This is a guided Tuk-Tuk ride with a local in the area who is knowledgeable about the history of Kandy. Visit and explore three Royal Mansions (Now commercial establishments), St. Paul's Church, Sri Muthumariamman Temple,  Meera Maccam Mosque, Kandy Lake, Kandy View Point and British Garrison Cemetery followed by a visit to Kandy's Temple of Tooth Relic where Lord Buddha's Tooth Relic now resides.

Afternoon boat safari in Gal Oya National Park :

Afternoon boat safari in Senanayake Tank surrounded by Gal Oya National Park to see swimming Elephants during the dry season (April to September). Gal Oya National Park is the only National Park in Sri Lanka where one could go safari in a boat. This boat trip is an ideal excursion for keen birders.

Day 06 : Hatton 

Transfer to Hatton (05 hours 37 Mins Approx)

There is no better way to experience Hatton's tea trails, than with a resident tea planter who is well versed in the age-old tea-making process. Follow the planters of old Ceylon through the jungle who will guide you to Hatton's rolling hills.  Take in the spectacular vistas of the emerald slopes, and watch the tea pickers hand pick their bountiful harvest. After watching the picking process, you will be taken to the factory and shown the processes used to make tea.
