Day 02 : Negombo

Hamilton Canal, Negombo fish market, Negombo Lagoon and fishing village boat trip :

Enjoy a memorable boat trip down the historic Hamilton Canal, departing from Negombo. Cruise past fisher families' homes, visit the lively fish market, explore mangroves, spot wildlife, and observe the Fishing Village.

Day 04 : Sigiriya 

Village tour in an open top jeep with a local followed by a home cooked lunch :

Experience the culture and nature of the Sigiriya and Habarana regions on an off-road jeep excursion led by a local villager. Explore authentic villages, rice fields, vegetable patches, ancient temples, monasteries, blacksmith workshops, and local wildlife. This authentic journey offers a genuine glimpse into village life, capturing classic photographs and a home-cooked lunch at a village house, avoiding staged attractions.

Treasure Hunt and ATV rides :

Afternoon, go on an exciting treasure hunt through the jungle/ village path on an ATV / Chally bike. Learn about nature and village life on your quest to find hidden treasure. This is an ultimate adventure for your kids. Let them join us in a true adventure while you enjoy your free time! Or come along!

Climb Sigiriya rock fortress :

Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Sigiriya Rock Fortress was built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century. Today you can witness the ruins of his castle on top of Sigiriya Rock, Swimming pools, ponds and gardens dotted with many ponds. This is an architectural marvel and one of the most photographed monuments.

Day 05 : Sigiriya 

Morning Guided Monkey Tour along with visit Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO world heritage site :

A specialist naturalist will meet you at the Polonnaruwa cultural site to do a guided tour of Monkeys of Sri Lanka where you will be able to observe the habitat of cheeky Monkeys. The naturalist will explain to you about three types of Monkeys namely Toque Macaques, Grey Langurs and Purple Face Langurs. This is an interesting experience for children as they get to see these Monkeys having family time playing cuddling and being cheeky over other Monkeys. These Monkeys call Polonnaruwa historical site their home. This is the exact location where 'The Monkey Kingdom' documentary film was shot by Discovery channel.  

After observing the Monkey habitat you then explore the glory of the bygone era which could be found in the archaeological treasures in Polonnaruwa that still give a good idea of how the city looked in its glory days. You'll find the archaeological park a delight to explore, with hundreds of ancient structures and tombs and temples, statues, and stupas.  This activity includes entrance fee to Polonnaruwa historical site and naturalist fee. Start at 7 AM for best experience. Check "Includes and Excludes" for site guide availability. Modest clothing required due to temple site.

Day 06 : Kandy 

Visit Dambulla Cave Temple :

Visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla, the country's largest cave temple complex. Marvel at the ancient rock temple, which served as a refuge for King Vattagamini Abaya. Explore the 80 caves, admire the stunning mural paintings, and discover 157 Buddha statues. Immerse yourself in history and art at this UNESCO World Heritage Site

Transfer to Kandy (2 hour 15 mins  Approx) :

Visit to Kandy Temple of Tooth relic of Lord Buddha :

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage site, houses the left Canine tooth of Gautama Buddha, attracting thousands of devotees and tourists daily.The temple, a significant Buddhist site, is renowned for its unique Kandyan architecture, incorporating elements from the construction of the "Dalada Mandira" shrines.The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, located near the ancient Royal Palace and Udawaththa Kelaya forest reserve, offers a unique opportunity to witness centuries-old Sri Lankan Buddhist pilgrimage rituals.  A special note: Modest clothing, covering up to knee length, is required as it is a temple site. For an enhanced experience, consider visiting during a "Pooja" (Sermon).

Day 07 : Kandy

Five-in-one Trek in a Kandyan Rural Village ending with a Waterfall bath :

Within a few hours you experience a great deal of village life. You take a 2-km path to the local school which most village children take. Distribute pens, exercise books etc. to the school children and participate with the children and their teacher in a short lesson followed by personal interaction with the children. A 20-minute ride in the local bus (which is not crowded) will take you close to the jungle-path leading to the water-fall hidden in the jungle - you will feel like Tarzan & Jane! If you are a competent swimmer, swimming in the natural pool will be loads of fun (water temp. approx. 20 C). If you wish to have your lunch at the water-fall, please inform your guide before leaving the Lodge. Return by tuk-tuk or by safari jeep.

Explore the spice plantation :

Take an early morning guided village walk to observe the spice trees, mostly Pepper, Cloves, Nutmeg and Cinnamon in the home gardens, and if you are lucky enough you can also watch it being harvested and processed During this trip you will visit a centuries old ancestral mansion and the village temple too This trail will enable you to have an in-depth understanding of the spice trail in addition to the everyday life styles in an upcountry village.

Day 08 : Nuwara Eliya (4 Hours Approx)

Scenic train ride from Kandy to Nanu Oya :

Get on board the scenic train from Kandy to Nanuoya (Nuwara Eliya) - 4 hour's journey. This is a very scenic train route where you could photograph the moving locomotive through tea plantations, villages, and forests. The railway line was built by the British during their colonial days to transport the tea harvest to Colombo Port. We suggest you take the 2nd class (non-AC) tickets to better experience an authentic train journey.

Tea tasting experience :

The full process of how tea is manufactured and then graded and packed for export to all corners of the world. Visiting Pedro Tea Estate is a sensory journey through the verdant hills of Nuwara Eliya, offering a unique and immersive experience in the art of tea production.

As you step into the estate, you'll be greeted by the lush green tea fields that stretch across the landscape. Engage in a guided tour that takes you through every step of the tea-making process, from plucking the delicate tea leaves to the intricacies of withering, rolling, fermenting, drying, and finally, sorting.

Day 09 : Thanamalwila (3hours Approx)

Early morning visit to the Horton Plains National Park :

Embark on an exhilarating high-altitude trek that unveils one of Sri Lanka's most stunning destinations – Horton's Plain, an absolute essential on your travel itinerary. This picturesque destination challenges photography skills with its picturesque landscapes, including mist-covered grasslands, evergreen forests, and cloud forests, surrounded by serene sounds and wind. Explore Sri Lanka's second-highest mountain, Kirigalpottha, and the third-highest, Totupola Kanda, for adventurous souls.

Horton Plains, a UNESCO-designated Natural World Heritage site, is a biodiversity hotspot with 750 plant, 24 mammal, 87 bird, 9 reptile, and 8 amphibian species, including the elusive leopard. Horton Plains, Sri Lanka's natural wonderland, boasts the impressive "World's End" and the stunning Baker's Fall waterfalls, offering an unforgettable journey into the country's mesmerizing landscapes.

Day 10 : Thanamalwila 

A day out in the wild :

Explore Lunugamvehera National Park and Yala Block 5 National Park in a single day with an experienced naturalist. These two national parks are ideal for wildlife enthusiasts who appreciate exploring wildlife without crowds. Elephants, Spotted Deers, Jackals, Crocodiles and many varieties of birds are expected to be encountered during this wildlife experience. If you are lucky, you may also come across the elusive Leopards and Sloth Bears. Refreshments, Picnic breakfast and a fully cooked Rice & Curry lunch is also served at a scenic location.

This wildlife experience starts at 6 AM and finishes at 6 PM (12 hours). In the morning session we head out to Yala Block 5 National Park which is also known as Veheragala NP in search of Leopards and this is where you take your breakfast on-the-go and enjoy a picnic lunch by the river.

So there will be a break between 11 AM to 2 PM by the river. During this short break we do some walks in the area to explore the local wildlife such as Lizards, butterflies and birds. In the afternoon we head out to Lunugamvehera NP for the second session of the safari experience during which you may come across wild Elephant herds, Fishing cat, Asian Palm civet, Grey mongoose, Grizzled Giant squirrel and Mouse Deer.

Transfer to Galle

Visit Galle Fort :
