OVERVIEW

Taiwan's east coast is known for its unparalleled natural scenery, indigenous culture, unique dining, and outdoor activities. Our Eastern Beauty Five Day Premium Tour will bring you to well-known scenic spots and hidden gems alike in luxury and style. Along the way you'll experience awe-inspiring natural wonders (including Taroko Gorge and the East Rift Valley), traveling through the heartland of Taiwan's indigenous cultures. You'll have plenty of opportunities for leisure and outdoor activities including hiking, boating, bicycling, and even hot-air ballooning. In between the bucolic splendor, we'll also make time to explore Hualien and Taitung, two of Eastern Taiwan's largest cities, each boasting their own unique cultural caches. Though the route is similar to our standard Eastern Beauty Tour, our Premium tour package offers top-rated accommodations around the area, meals in some of eastern Taiwan's best restaurants, and opportunities for adventure not available on our standard tour.

Day 1 : Taipei - Su'ao - Hualien (- / L / -)

When heading down the magnificent east coast, we will stop at Yilan Su'ao and enjoy the rare type of cold springs, which is only found at a few places around the world, before arriving at Hualien. After lunch, visit a beautiful pebble-strewn beach with famously clear blue waters, take a walk around 48 Highland and cycle along the best coastal bike path.

Day 2 : Easten Coast Beauty: Hualien - Taitung (B / - / D)

On day two we'll head south down the coast, making many stops along the way to check out the regions astonishingly varied coastal terrain. Further down the coast, we'll stop at Chenggong Fishing Port for fresh seafood lunch and visit local monkeys. In the afternoon, you will be able to experience well-known Hot Air Balloon Festival in Luye, or you could take an adventure of paragliding up to your option. After dinner, schedule a massage, soak in their hot springs, or simply enjoy the spa at hotel.

  • Scenic tour of coastal cliffs, beaches, and coral and visit various seaside landscape including Shitiping, Cave of the Eight Immortal and Three Immortals Bridge

Day 3 : East Rift Valley Exploration: Taitung - Hualien (B / L / -)

We'll spend the morning in a most unusual museum, one made not of brick and glass but of interconnected trees, part of a forest preserve maintained and protected by members of the local Bunun tribe. Follow local peoples to learn about the unique lifestyle and cultures of the indigenous tribe. Afterward, we'll explore the bucolic East Rift Valley when heading back to Hualien.

Day 4 : Hualien - Taroko (B / L / D)

It is time for fun activities, we will spend the morning digging clams, an interesting and local experience to learn how to be a fish-man, and taste clam dishes. Afterward, we'll head inland to Liyu lake, whose beauty (some say) rivals that of Taiwan's well-known Sun Moon Lake. Ride on a paddle boat with your party or just cycle and hike around the lake to enjoy a lovely afternoon. The rest of the day will belong to Silks Place Taroko, enjoying spa, rooftop pool & other entertainment facilities at this world-class hotel.

  • Have fun in clam digging to experience traditional fishing
  • Taste freshwater clam dishes and Taiwanese cuisine for lunch
  • Spend a lovely afternoon at Liyu Lake, the largest inland lake in Hualien
  • A scenic car ride into Taroko Gorge

Day 5 : Taroko Gorge -Taipei (B / - / -)

On the final day we'll start slowly, allowing guests an hour or so after breakfast to continue to enjoy the facilities at the Taroko Silk before exploring Taroko Gorge, called Taiwan's Grand Canyon by some people. Visit a temple, shrine or waterfall, and even take a hike into the gorge itself. After gorging ourselves on scenery, we'll head back to the coast for the final leg of our Eastern Beauty Tour - a spectacular evening drive back up the eastern coast.

  • Taroko Gorge tour, including visits to the Xiangde Temple and Eternal Springs Shrine
  • Hiking along the Baiyang Trail to the waterfall and Water Curtain Tunnel. (If weather does not permit, we’ll substitute further cultural explorations for hiking trip.)
  • Pass by Qingshui Cliff on the famous Suhua Highway coastal road
