OVERVIEW

Discover the breath-taking natural beauty of Kelimutu and Komodo on this five-day tour. The trip takes in the quaint village of Moni and the stunning scenery that surrounds it. We will delve into the rich culture of the region, stopping at communities to view traditional houses and to witness a sacred cemetery in Koa Nara village. We will also marvel at the natural splendour in Penggajwa; the impressive blue stone beach and the magnificent pink sand beach. In Labuan Bajo, we explore Batu Cermin Cavern and visit a fish market to get a glimpse into local life. While in Komodo, we will trek to view giant Komodo dragons in their natural habitat. This is a great way to delve into the wealth of flora and fauna and the unique way of life in this pristine part of the world.

Day 1 : Arrival Ende – Moni (- / - / D)

The quaint town of Moni, nestled on the slopes of Mount Kelimutu, is the destination of the day. Upon arrival at the airport at Ende, the oldest town on the central south coast of Flores, we will be met by our local guide and set off on a scenic two-hour drive to Moni. 

We will make a few stops along the way to get a glimpse into local life and marvel at the stunning panoramas that dot the journey. We will arrive in Moni in the afternoon and check-in to our accommodation. 

The picturesque hill town of Moni is surrounded by swathes of lush rice paddies and hot springs, with volcanic peaks dominating the skyline. This laid-back town is packed with hospitable locals and home to a thriving Tuesday market, where souvenirs aplenty can be bought.

Day 2 : Moni – Kelimutu – Ende (B/ L / D)

Striking natural beauty is combined with a dose of culture on today’s exciting excursion. After an early morning breakfast, we set off on our drive to Kelimutu Volcano and the three coloured lakes. From the entrance, we take a 1.5 km walk to the ridge and climb 127 steps to view Kelimutu’s striking lakes which sit in green, turquoise and black craters. 

We then visit Koa Nara village, which is famous for its traditional Lionese houses, stone seats and a traditional sacred cemetery. Here, we get a glimpse into local life and learn about the unique customs and traditions. Depending on the road conditions, 

We will then visit Jopu Ende Lio, a traditional tribal village. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Ende before we go to Penggajawa/ Nangapanda, which is home to a stunning blue stone beach. This ends our day trip as we continue to Ende to check-in to our hotel.

Day 3 : Ende - Labuan Bajo (B / L / D)

Today sees us start our exploration of the stunning west coast of Flores. After breakfast at the resort, we have the morning free to relax, or set off on some solo sight-seeing before heading to the airport for our flight to Labuan Bajo. 

Upon arrival at Komodo Airport, we will be met by our guide and set straight off on our discovery of the area, take a city tour to visit Batu Cermin Cave, Fish market in Labuan Bajo.   

Lunch will be served at Local Restaurant. We then transfer to the hotel to check-in.

Overnight in Labuan Bajo

Day 4 : Labuan Bajo –Komodo Island – Pink beach (B / L / D)

Early morning departure from your hotel by boat to visit the island of Komodo Dragon, after 3 hours sailing arrive in Komodo and take medium trek takes about 1 1/2 hours. It passes a waterhole where the Timor deer and wild pigs often come to drink. Sometimes, dragons can be found there lying around and waiting. You will climb Sulphurea Hill and Frigate Hill, where a magnificent view across the islands, bays and beaches awaits.

Return to the boat and proceed to a pink beach. This peculiar beach gets its color from red coral fragments. Lunch on board and afternoon sail to Rinca island.

Remarks: Trekking in Rinca is sofar not open, clients only visit and pass the bridge till ranger station to see the dragons

Overnight on Boat

Day 5 : Rinca Island – Kelor Island - Labuan Bajo (B / L / -)

Morning trekking to Waewaso in Rinca,it takes 2 hours, on the way you will find not just the Dragons but also many wild animals like,Timor deer, wild buffalo, long-tailed macaque and wild Boars also numerous of birds. Return to boat and proceed to Bidadari island for swimming, snorkeling or relaxing. 

We then cruise back to Labuan Bajo and transfer to the hotel or airport this brings an end to our unforgettable five-day discovery of Kelimutu and Komodo.

Breakfast and lunch are on the boat.

  • Entrance fees for visits as mentioned in the program except the Komodo National Park to be paid by the guest on the spot (rate available separately).

  • Trekking on Komodo Island for Komodo hunting.

Our services do not include :

  • International flight ticket
  • Domestic flight ticket Denpasar – Labuhan Bajo.
  • Conservation/entrance fee at Komodo National Park: IDR 150,000 per person per day on weekday and IDR 225,000 per person per day on Saturday – Sunday or Public Holiday (subject to change upon visit). On this program you are charged 2 days on the National Park.
  • Personal expenses such as other meals, drinks, tips and gratuities, shopping, portage fees and optional tours/ visits, unless otherwise stated.
  • Hotel accommodation in the destination of commencement.
  • Any domestic / international airline tickets, airport taxes, visa fees, specific camera / video fees.
  • Additional transportation cost from and to the general pick-up / drop-off regions (such as airports, out-of-town resorts, ports, harbours and accommodation in surrounding towns).
  • Any accommodation expenses of a personal nature. This includes (compulsory festive) meals and drinks, mini-bar consumption, laundry, room service, any telephone or other communication cost not mentioned in the program.
  • International travel and medical insurance coverage for customers.
  • Voluntary carbon emission compensation USD 1.50 per person per day.
