OVERVIEW

Discover the provinces Havana, Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara und Sancti Spiritus by Ebikes in 8 days.

You cross biosphere reserves with an incredible richness of nature, climb colossal mountains and admire rushing waterfalls – everything by E-bike. You can be sure you will take many as well as very special highlights of these provinces with you, certainly more and different to those you could see with other means of transport. You will find yourself on paths far away from the common tourist paths and you will feel “Cuba muy auténtico”.

Start of our 5-provinces central Cuba tour is Havana. You will arrive at your accommodation one day before your tour starts. During the journey you have a maximum of 2 nights at the same accommodation, so please arrange your luggage accordingly. We will arrange the transport of your luggage to the next accommodation. We accommodate our guests only in accommodations we have tested before. Please keep in mind that Cuba has its charm of luxury rather from a historical perspective and we therefore maybe have to accept compromises. Accommodations might be simple but functional. Our goal is that you can always start our trips relaxed with the invitation to fully engage with your experiences with the e-bikes, Cuba and our team.

DAY 1 : ARRIVAL TO HAVANA (- / - / -)

Arrival at the international airport of Havana. Transfer to be booked separately.

Accommodation with breakfast : Casa Particular

DAY 2 : HAVANA – PLAYA LARGA (B / L / D)

Your guide expects you with the e-bikes in the morning at your casa particular. After a short introduction on the e-bikes, client’s bike adjustments to each individual height and some general information about the roads and rules of Cuban traffic, you are ready to begin your discovery trip with the e-bikes. The tour starts towards Playa Larga.

As the distance is more than 200 km you will cover the parts to Australia or Agramonte with other means of transport - depending on the size of the group and availabilities these might be a gotten long in the tooth train, a 1950ies “camion” or a modern bus. Flexibility and spontaneous organizational skills are principal characteristics in Cuba – it does no harm with tourists possessing these as well. Further 60 km by E-bike.

You cross Australia which obtained its popularity thanks to the failed invasion at the Bay of Pigs in 1961. Stop at the Criadero de Cocodrilos - the biggest crocodile farm in Cuba with more than 10.000 animals. Continue by E-bike to Playa Larga and your casa. Time for a refreshing swim in the Caribbean Sea or just relax before having dinner in one of the Paladares.

Accommodation with breakfast : Casa Particular

DAY 3 : PLAYA LARGA - PLAYA GIRÓN (B / L / D)

Today’s destination is the 20km distant Playa Girón, a very historic site. The invasion forces of the United States landed here with the purpose to overthrow Fidel Castro, but for once the Americans couldn’t enforce their aim. Today known as the failed invasion in the Bay of Pigs.

The route between Playa Larga and Playa Girón is sometimes characterized by animal hiking activities, a special challenge for bikers. At certain times in the year massive crab walks take place at this coastline. You will ride closely at the Caribbean coast this day and have lunch at a Paladar. Strengthened and perhaps after a nice swim, you continue to your destination Playa Gíron.

Depending on time you may visit the museum dedicated to the events of the failed invasion in 1961. Before meeting for dinner again please connect your chargers otherwise you will have the pleasure of a classic bicycle tour, works as well is nevertheless very exhausting and it just feels bad knowing that you have paid for an e-bike.

Accommodation with breakfast : Casa Particular or Hotel Playa Giron (3*)

DAY 4 : PLAYA GIRON - CIENFUEGOS (B / L / D)

Today you will be heading towards Cienfuegos, along the beautiful coastal road. Classic group travellers will not visit this part of the Caribbean coast as it is even more difficult to avoid the crabs with 4 wheels and the road surface seems more like a crater landscape. In case that you find yourselves in the middle of a crab rush hour you will take an alternative route through the outback which is certainly not less attractive. The original Pueblos (villages) have an incredible charm and locals are always very curious about visitors especially if they see the e-bikes.

Today’s destination is Cienfuegos also known as the Pearl of the South. Cienfuegos was originally very strong influenced by the French and the huge bay used to be a shelter for pirates (before the French influence). Sugarcane, tobacco and coffee are the origins of the wealth of this 160,000 inhabitant city. Cienfuegos has always been spared from the usual destruction caused by the battles in various revolutions and that is why you can find many well-preserved buildings from this period of prosperity in the city. Since the city centre was also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the renovation work is progressing a lot. The provincial capital will surely inspire you. There is much to see in our way through the capital of the smallest province of Cuba.

We head toward our Casa Particular or hotel and continue after a short break with our discovery tour in The Pearl of the South. Joint dinner.

Accommodation with breakfast : Casa Particular

DAY 5 : CIENFUEGOS – EL NICHO (B / L / D)

Today’s tour leads you towards El Nicho. A breath-taking natural spectacle is waiting for you but also a few breath-taking climbs. Maybe you have to get off the bicycles despite having the electric motor. Waterfalls with natural pools, countless plant species which you probably have not seen in the nature so far and a gigantic lake is waiting for you on this natural trail. This night you will be accommodated in a hotel or Campismo, in the middle of this nature-spectacle. You have time to explore the highlands by e-bike by yourself but also with a knowledgeable local guide. This day you move around El Nicho as well as Topes Collantes. Joint dinner.

Accommodation with breakfast : Casa Particular

DAY 6 : EL NICHO - TRINIDAD (B / L / D)

Start in the direction of Trinidad. Trinidad with its cobblestone streets is one of the most famous destinations for tourists in Cuba. Discover by E-Bike this open-air museum. Lunch at a cozy paladar.

In the afternoon head towards the beaches of Trinidad, Playa Ancón and Playa La Boca. We take the old coastal route to finally see the Caribbean sunset at some nice place which faces the Caribbean and enjoy the moment with a delicious Mojito.

After the sunset spectacle make your way to Casilda and your Casa and enjoy the culinary delights of the region.

Accommodation with breakfast : Casa Particular

DAY 7 : TRINIDAD – PLAYA YAGUANABO (B / L / D)

You take the Circuit Sur along the coast towards Playa Yaguanabo. A short detour into the Parque El Cubano and further along towards the Islazul-Hotel Yaguanabo - a very nice location with small bungalows and a private beach in a very quiet bay. Afternoon at leisure.

Accommodation with breakfast : Casa Particular

DAY 8 : PLAYA YAGUANABO - CIENFUEGOS (B / L / - )

Return to Cienfuegos crossing the countryside. You move along roads that are not really conquered by tourists. Do not worry, you’ll find everything you need in the lovable Pueblos of this region which seem like they would have been forgotten during the connecting process of the provincial capitals as well as their infrastructure that is decades behind the possibilities of Cuba.

Despite the fascination of the people of the Campo their warmth and unbelievable satisfaction with their standard of living and their pride of being Cuban you want to reach your destination Cienfuegos. Afternoon at leisure and time to discover the city with the French flair on your own.

Accommodation with breakfast : Casa Particular

DAY 9 : CIENFUEGOS - HAVANA (B / L / - )

Back to Havana.

This last day will neither be less eventful as the days before since you will go on a last ride with your E-bike through the metropolis after having a typical Cuban lunch in a Havanan restaurant. You will take all the must-sees with you: El Capitolio, Plaza de la Revolucion, Habana Vieja, Habana Centro and the Malecón are guaranteed.

Accommodation with breakfast : Casa Particular

DAY 10 : HAVANA - DEPARTURE (B / - / - )

After the last night at your hotel / casa, your trip will hopefully continue in the unique and exciting Cuba or you will happily embark on your return journey knowing that you have mastered this unique trip. We are happy to take care of any transfers to the airport to the bus station a classic car trip into the country or maybe you want to do another tour with us!

A remark concerning the flexibility. We know that our E-bike tours do not offer much space for individual destinations, the days are really busy, but you always have the opportunity to coordinate your wishes with us. Whether you want to enjoy the beach for longer, visit a theatre or a museum, continue the tour for any reason with another vehicle or whatever you have on your mind, we will always show you as much flexibility as possible and try everything, to adapt your stay also according to your wishes. We certainly will not always succeed, but mostly.
