Breakfast at the hotel. Today you can enjoy some of the activities that the lodge offer:
Boat rides :
Leave the Inn early in the morning, walk a short distance to the pier and get ready for an adventure that takes you through amazing places, unreachable through dry land. Once you're deep in the enigmatic Ibera, amongst the aquatic vegetation you find the true inhabitants of the marshes. They all live harmoniously, capybaras, marsh deers, otters, broad snouted caimans, yacare caimans, and a broad variety of aquatic birds. In the river they live freely, and they welcome us without any disturbances. They aren't threatened so they act naturally.
We follow their lead and their rhythms, we observe them. We wait for them, inches away. This experience is only meant for the brave animal lovers. It's a typical local adventure, experienced in the heart of the Esteros del Iberá.
Trekking :
The main objective of our expeditions is that you can meet wild animals in their own habitat, in different places and times of the day. We can do this in many ways: by boat, walking through the native forest or on horseback through swamps and palm trees. Always watching closely, but without disturbing them.
The programming is organized exclusively by our guide, always depending on the weather and the season. We are convinced that a walk is crucial to get immersed into the Wetlands.
Horseback ridding :
We start from the inn's door, where guides will adjust the stirrups and saddles. Once we get through Colonia Carlos Pellegrini, the adventure will begin. We offer two different levels of tours: a higher level for more the more experienced hosts and a beginner level for the ones riding for the first time.
The tours are included after the third day of stay or can be reserved as an extra activity directly at the reception. The native-born guides, will be responsible for showing you the sights of Colonia and telling you some of their
stories. Then they will guide you through different areas where nature will dominate your senses. Upon return, enjoy a scrumptious snack in the tack room, overlooking the sunset.
Canoeing :
It's one of the best options to go animal watching, as it permits access to places where larger boats can't fit. Everyone who visits Aguape Lodge is offered basic training to get acquainted with the paddles and getting their coordination on point.
