Tibet always evokes images of remote and evocative landscapes…A land of mystery and ancient religions. To fight the altitude we designed a deep experience concentrated around Lhasa, mixing the best of its landscapes, culture, monasteries and local people. 7 days / 6 nights experience on the roof of the world, hosted by Tibetans that share with you their country.
Day 1 : Arrival Lhasa ( / - / D)
Kick start this discovery of Tibet and the people who call this pristine part of the world home in the capital Lhasa.
Upon arrival at the airport or train station, we transfer to the hotel to check-in, with the rest of the day free to acclimatize to the altitude. As one of the world’s highest cities, Tibet’s capital teeters 3,656 metres above sea level and it is perched on the banks of the Kyichu River in a mountain-fringed valley. In Tibetan, Lhasa means holy land, as it is home to a vast collection of sacred sites.
In the evening, we are treated to a welcome dinner at the hotel which showcases traditional local culture and architecture at its finest. The hotel is beautifully decorated with almost 100 pieces of ancient Tibetan and Chinese textile art. It is also home to an ornate Tibetan and Chinese textile boutique art garden. Today’s schedule facilitates an easy introduction to the high altitude and stunning surroundings.

This incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most elevated palace in the world at 3,700 metres above sea level.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we get crafty at a thangka workshop and get an insight into painting Buddhist images onto silk.

Today, it stands as one of Tibet’s four most sacred spots. We have time to explore the impressive network of temples carved into the mountainside, followed by lunch.
In the afternoon, we have free time to relax in preparation for our culturally-rich evening, or there is the option to embark on some solo exploration of the area.

From this height, we can marvel at a vista that stretches across the Lhasa River.
We enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by the scenic panorama and then continue to Sera Monastery.
