Day 1 : Lima (- / - / -)

Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you at the airport to transfer you to the selected hotel.

Rest of the day free to rest or take an excursion (on request), if time permits.

Day 2 : Lima (B / - / -)

Brekafast at the hotel.

Half Day City Tour in Lima :

Between 9:10 and 9:40 or between 14:10 and 14:40 hours, depending on your choice, we will pick you up from your hotel to start the panoramic city tour where we can see the Colonial Centre, the Plaza Mayor, the Palace of Government, the Cathedral Basilica, the Archbishop's Palace and the Municipality of Lima. Also, we will visit Santo Domingo, a convent with cloisters and catacombs of the Colonial period.

The tour starts with a panoramic view of the Huaca Pucllana and the traditional, residential and commercial areas of Lima to continue with the historic centre of Lima and end with a spectacular panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and the beaches of the Miraflores district from the park of love.

Overnight in Lima.

Day 3 : Lima – Iquitos – Cruise (B / BL / D)

At the indicated time, transfer to the airport to continue with your itinerary.

Arrive to the Amazon city of Iquitos: Our crew will be expecting your arrival at the airport, then transfer all together in our comfortable private vehicle. We will start you off with a lunchbox as we begin the journey to Nauta.

Arrive to Nauta port: Nauta is a small riverside town on the banks of the Marañon River and was the first city founded in the department of Loreto. Once we reach Nauta, you will enjoy a VIP greeting at our private port along the shores of the Marañon River where the vessel awaits you. Aboard Delfin, you will be served by our qualified staff who will introduce you to your exquisite and cozy suite, specially equipped with all the amenities for the experienced traveler as yourself. Orthopedic beds, pure cotton sheets, pillows of 100% pure natural latex, cotton bathrobes, air conditioning, and private bathroom with Spanish style hot water showers are all framed with a spacious private terrace we are sure you will enjoy to the fullest.

Happy Hour and orientation

While the Delfin begins its initial navigation, you will enjoy the most fantastic panoramic views from the elegantly outfitted observation area located on our third deck. Your naturalist guide will give you an overview of your journey’s schedule, activities, route, highlights, wildlife and vegetation to keep your eye out for, geographical and historical background, and other useful details.

Pahuachiro :

We head down into the Marañon River to a location known as Pahuachiro. This lovely spot is an ideal place to spend some time in search of birds and playful monkeys. As your naturalist guide spots various creatures for you, the landscape adorned by the usual colors of the sun´s reflections is a great photo opportunity as you witness your first Amazon Rainforest Sunset.Nauta Caño The Nauta Caño creek is known for Squirrel Monkeys and Silver-backed Tamarillo Monkeys, birds, dolphins, and even sloths. We will cruise along the riverbank in search of small alligators, spiders, and insects of all colors, shapes, and sizes.

Day 4 : Cruise (B / L / D)

On your first morning with us, we recommend getting up early to appreciate one of the most important zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Never does nature seem more bountiful than in the tropics, and early rising is always rewarding since wildlife is most abundant and active with the rising of the sun. We will jump on the skiffs and head to this area with large trees and old palm trees as well, these components favor the presence of several parrot species. This particular spot also has a great number of other birds of different species. We will look for the famous hoatzins nesting a few feet above water, and perhaps a sloth or two of the three toed kind.

Amazonas Natural Park :

You will have the opportunity to take a nature walk to learn about medicinal plants. The Peruvian Amazon region is considered the largest pharmaceutical reserve in the world with 965 species of wild plants and 59 species of cultivated plants that the local population uses to cure and prevent many diseases. You will be able to see that the “Terra Firma” area is revealing of the reality of a riverside resident and a reflection of how simple and rewarding life is for them.

After dinner, you will enjoy a talk on Shamanism.

Day 5 : Cruise (B / L / D)

You will start cruising through the creeks of Yanayaquillo, peeking into different creeks and lagoons. This is one of the best preserved and protected zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Your guide will use his expert eye to pinpoint all the biodiversity of this region. This is also a very popular feeding area for pink dolphins, so it will be a great opportunity to see them. We will also try piranha fishing.

Piraña Caño :

We head down into the Marañon River to a location known as Piraña Caño. We had the option to explore the creek either by kayak or by skiff, and they were both fantastic choices! This lovely creek which leads to a lagoon is an ideal place to spend some time in search of birds and playful monkeys. As your naturalist guide spots various creatures for you, also try to pinpoint some yourself now that you’ve been in the jungle for a few days and have trained your eye a bit! Kayakers will endure the feeling of paddling down the river with only the noises of the forest as your companion.

As for the skiff riders, the encounters with wildlife are abundant. The landscape adorned by the usual colors of the sun´s reflections by whichever mode of transportation is stunning. So sit back and enjoy the beauty of the Amazon forest!

Day 6 : Cruise – Iquitos – Cusco (B / - / -)

With heavy hearts, the staff will wish you farewell as you begin your departure. At the port of Nauta, our ground crew will be waiting to take you by our private vehicle back to the city of Iquitos, about 95 kilometers journey by paved road.

The Rescue & Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals :

On our way from Nauta back to Iquitos airport, you will visit the Rescue & Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals (Amazon Forever) where you will have the chance to meet baby manatees and learn about these wonderful and docile creatures and why they are on the endangered species list. As well, there are also someother animals cared for by the center that have been rescued from capture for the intention of being turned into pets and other threatening conditions. We welcome you to donate to this ambitious organization and education center as you wish. Our land personnel will wait for you at the airport and give your boarding passes and help you check in.

Airport departure: Our staff will be on hand to help you with your luggage and check in at Crnl. FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta International Airport in Iquitos. Upon arrival in Cusco, our staff will be waiting for you at the airport to transfer you to the selected hotel.

City tour in Cusco and Nearby Ruins :

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board the flight to the city of Cusco. Arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel. Free time to rest.

Between 13:00 and 13:30 hours, our staff will pick you up from the hotel to start the tour of the colonial city, built on the bases of Inca palaces. In the tour we will visit the Main Square, the Temple of the Sun, also known
as Qoricancha, and the Cathedral of Cusco, where we can see beautiful paintings and sculptures. Then we will continue to the archaeological centre of Sacsayhuaman, a multipurpose place where the Sun, the Moon and the Earth were worshiped, and which was also used as a military fortress and an astrological centre. Later we will arrive at Q'enco, a cult centre related to the fire element. We continue with Puca Pucara, a place used as a supply centre and Inca checkpoint, where wind ceremonies were also held. At the end of the tour we will arrive at Tambomachay, centre of cult to water and fertility.Return to the hotel and spend the night in Cusco.

Day 7 : Cusco – Sacred Valley (B / L / -)

Full Day Sacred Valley

Between 08:00 and 08:30 hours our staff will pick you up from your hotel to start the tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we visit the beautiful town of Pisac, its handicraft market and its narrow streets. We will continue the tour through the Sacred Valley to Urubamba, where you can enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. Then we will visit Ollantaytambo, a still inhabited Inca City that preserves a complex system of irrigation Canals and foundations of the time when much of the village was built. The archaeological site of Ollantaytambo has large groups of terraces, fortresses, squares, canals and the Sun Royal House, a megalithic temple of great mystical value.

Overnight in Sacred Valley.

Day 8 : Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu / Cusco (B / L / -)

Excursion to Machu Picchu :

At the indicated time, transfer to the train station to start the excursion to the Sacred City of Machu Picchu, recognized as one of the wonders of the world and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The train takes us to the town of Aguas Calientes, from where we will ascend by bus to the Archaeological Centre and start the guided tour that lasts approximately 2 hours. During the visit you can see temples, squares, terraces, houses, barns, as well as the great biodiversity that exists in the surroundings. It is worth noting that the beauty of Machu Picchu is exalted by the extraordinary scenery where it is located. Around the citadel has been formed a National Reserve that has an area of 32,500 hectares, and that includes a constellation of archaeological monuments, which, in our opinion, were built as part of the Machu Picchu complex and not in isolation.

At the indicated time we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we have lunch included. Return by train to Cusco city. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel.
