Day 1 : Yangon (- / - / D)

Upon arrival at Yangon Airport by flight (TBA), you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel.

Lunch will be charged to your own account.

Dinner will be served at hotel. Overnight stay in Yangon.

Day 2 : Yangon (B / L / D)

Breakfast at hotel. Your tour through the former capital starts with Sule Pagoda that dates back over 2,000 years. We then proceed to the magnificent 66 metres-long reclining Buddha at Chauk Htat Gyi Temple.

After a photo stop at the ornate Karaweik Hall on Kandawgyi Royal Lake , stroll through the Bogyoke (Scott’s) Market (closed on Monday and public holidays), which has abundant food, clothes, handicraft and gem stores. We complete the day in Yangon with an extended visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, Shwedagon Pagoda. We then transfer to your hotel.

Lunch is at local restaurant. Dinner is at the hotel.

Day 3 : Yangon - Kyaikhtiyo (B / L / D)

You will be picked up at your hotel for the drive to Bago (84 km – 1.5 hours). On arrival in Bago we visit the ancient Shwemawdaw Pagoda which has a spire taller than Yangon’s Shwedagon Pagoda.

We then proceed to the Kin Pun 'base camp' (110 km – 3.5 hours) with lunch served at a local restaurant en-route. Our destination Kyaiktiyo is one of Myanmar’s most famous tourism sites. On the summit is ‘Golden Rock’, a huge boulder covered in gold leaf and perched precariously on the edge of a cliff. To access this site we will depart from Kin Pun along a steep 11 km road in open trucks and be dropped off at the final stage camp to travel the last distance on foot (20 minutes). The ascent is well worth it you will be treated to a stunning view.

Dinner is at the hotel. Overnight stay in Kyaikhtiyo.

Please note: The journey in the open trucks is quite uncomfortable and is shared with other people.

Day 4 : Kyaikhtiyo - Mawlamyine (B / L / D)

After breakfast we drive for four hours to Mawlamyine On arrival in Mawlamyine we check-in to the hotel to freshen up. Then we take a relaxing 45 minute boat trip along the Salween, which is also known as Than Lwin, River to Kadoe Kawhnat Mon village to view this indigenous group’s traditional lifestyle.

We get the chance to visit the huge Kawhnut Pagoda compound with pagodas and shrines built by U Nar Auk, a philanthropist, humanitarian and champion of the poor. The amazing monuments inside the compound, built between 1882 until 1895, are well maintained today. We head back to Mawlamyine by boat and check-in to our hotel.

Day 5 : Mawlamyine – Hpa An (B / L / D)

After breakfast we take a trishaw ride past interesting local landmarks including Zyegyi Market, the old port, Mahamuni Pagoda and Seindon Mibaya Kyaung, a 100-year-old temple famed for being the place where King Mindon’s Mon queen, Seindon sought sanctuary after Myanmar’s last monarch King Thibaw took power. We then drive for 90 minutes to Hpa An, the capital of Kayin State.

On the way, we stop at the magnificent Saddan Cave, a football-stadium-sized cave, containing Buddhist statues, pagodas and wall engravings.

Lunch is at a local restaurant en-route. Dinner is at hotel.

Day 6 : Hpa An (B / L / D)

We start the day with a delicious traditional Myanmar-style breakfast in one of the local teashops. Next is a visit to a local market and fascinating cultural museum that details the Karen tribe. Then we head to the picturesque Shweyinhmwyaw Pagoda on the banks of the Thalwin River.

Then it is time to explore the Bayinnyi and Kawgoon caves. Both of these are set inside imposing limestone rock formations. The tour continues to Lake Kantharyar for a stunning panoramic view over the distant Zwekabin Mountains, which are Kayin state’s landmark.

Lunch is at a local restaurant en-route. Dinner is at hotel.

Overnight stay in Hpa An.

Day 7 : Hpa An – Mae Sot Border - Sukhothai (B / L / D)

After breakfast we drive for six hours along a scenic route to Myawaddy. Upon arrival our guide will escort you to the Myawaddy border check-point to cross the Myawaddy-Mae Sot Friendship Border Bridge where you will complete immigration procedures and enter Thailand.

Your local guide from Thailand will welcome and escort you.
After the custom/immigration clearance, you will be pick up at the border town of Mae Sot (drive distance 67km from Mae Sot border to Mae Sot town). The town is notable as a trade hub and for its substantial residents of Burmese refugees.

Proceed to Sukhothai province. (Driving distance 168km–approximately 2 hrs.) Arrive Sukhothai and check-in at hotel

Lunch is at a local restaurant en-route.

Day 8 : Sukhothai (B / L / D)

Visit Sukhothai Historical Park, famous ruins of Thailand’s first capital (1257-1379). The 70 square Kilometers of Sukothai Historical Park or “Muang Kao” (called locally) is full of the remains of the civilization that developed during the Sukothai era (founded 1238). Sukothai used to be the capital of Thailand, nowadays it is known as a popular tourists stop.

Sukothai province was designated a World Heritage site in 1991. Ruins of the royal palaces, Buddhist temples, Buddha sculptures, the city gates, walls, and other interesting remains of Thailand’s first kingdom can be seen. Wat Maha Dhat, the Ramkamhaeng Museum (closed on Monday), Wat Sra Sri and Wat Sri Chum are well known for history lovers and worth a visit. Continue drive to Si Satchanalai.

Lunch at Kaeng Luang Resort in Si Satchanalai.

After lunch, proceed to Si Satchanalai Historical Park, is situated on the bank of the Yom River. Important ancient monuments are contained within the old city walls and outside the city walls. Visit Wat Chang Lom, Wat Chedi Jet Thaew, Wat Nang Phya and Wat Phra Sri Ratana Maha Dhat on the site of the Khmer fort "Chalieng.” Si Satchanalai Historical Park has been honored as a World Heritage (World Heritage) as well as the Sukhothai Historical Park since 1991. Return to the resort.

Dinner and overnight stay in Sukhothai.

Day 9 : Sukhothai – Lopburi – Ayuthaya - Bangkok (B / L / -)

Depart for Bangkok. En route, visit Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat in Phitsanuloke province. Locally dubbed as "Wat Yai", the complex is considered the most important temple in Phitsanulok housing Thailand's famous Phra Phutthachinnarat which is considered the most beautiful Buddha image in Thailand. Continue drive to Lopburi. Arrive at Lopburi.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, visit at Prang Sam Yod (Sacred Three-Spired Pagoda), ruins of Wat Phra Sri Ratana Maha Dhat, as well as the Monkey Temple. Continue drive to Ayuthaya.

Arrive at Ayuthaya, former capital of Thailand. Principal sights are the gigantic bronze statues of Wat Mongkol Borpith, the three ancient pagodas at Wat Phra Srisanpetch and Wat Pranangcherng. Afterwards, drive towards Bangkok.

Arrive Bangkok and check-in at hotel.

Day 10 : Bangkok sightseeing tours (B / L / -)

Thonburi is the western part of Bangkok, situated on the right side of the Chao Phya River. Its many canals had originally given Bangkok the name “Venice of the East.” Passing by boat along the canals gives you a first-hand impression of the scenic life along Bangkok’s waterways. Also visit the Royal Barges and the Temple of Dawn.

Lunch at Supatra River House

This tour includes three of the most unusual Buddhist temples in Bangkok: Wat Trimitr with its invaluable Golden Buddha (5 ½ tons of solid gold) – Wat Po, the most extensive temple in Bangkok, with its colossal Reclining Buddha and the Chedis of the Kings.The Grand Palace is one of the most beautiful samples of an ancient Siamese court. It used to be the residence of the Kings of Thailand. Here you will see palaces which were used for different occasions: the Funeral Palace, the Reception Palace, the Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Royal Guest House, and the beautiful Emerald Buddha Temple. Return to hotel.

Day 11 : Bangkok – Aranyaprathet/Poipet border – Siem Reap (B / L / -)

Check-out and transfer to Thailand-Cambodia border at Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province (driving distance 251km) for border crossing.

Arrival at the border Aranyaprthet/Poipet, clients will cross border and arrange visa formalities by their own. The driver and Cambodian guide will await clients in front of the visa center in Cambodia side.

Note: Please note the border crossing procedure when entering Cambodia via Aranyaprathet/Poipet: Upon arrival at the Thai checkpoint clients have to leave their vehicle and cross the border on their own. Designated porters will take care of the luggage and carry to the Cambodian side.

After arranging the visa formalities, the driver will welcome them at the Cambodian checkpoint. When all the formalities are done clients have to pick up their luggage and get on a public shuttle bus for a transfer (about 10km) to the general parking area where our vehicle awaits. There is also a fast track immigration service available (chargeable). Most nationalities can get a visa on arrival at the border. The visa fee is USD 30.00 per person. Passport has to be valid for at least six months after departure date from Cambodia. Please check for updates at www.mfaic.gov.kh

Important note: Please note that Asian Trails Cambodia needs all clients’ passport details in advance that we could send it to office committee in Poipet at least 3 days prior to arrival date to make the necessary arrangements at Poipet border.

Continue driving from Poipet to Sisophon. (49km – around 1hour drive).

Day 12 : Siem Reap (B / L / -)

Visit of South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphoun, Baksei Chamkrong, the Terrace of the Elephant and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Note: Visitors are required to keep their knees and shoulders covered at all sacred sites and a dress code applies. Only 100 people are allowed to climb Bakan Tower at any one time, and children under twelve years old are not permitted to do so. This site is closed on Buddhist religious days and four days a month, as per the lunar calendar.

In the afternoon, we continue our temple tour to the majestic Angkor Wat, a symbol of the country that even features on the nation’s flag.

Day 13 : Siem Reap (B / - / D)

Today’s temple-hopping adventure starts at the more remote spots of Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. The well-preserved 10th century temple of Banteay Srei is made of pink sandstone and considered a tribute to the beauty of women. Its walls are also adorned with delicate apsara carvings. Banteay Samre is a 12th century Hindu temple built under the reign of King Suryavarman II. On our return to Siem Reap, we stop at a village and depending on the season, watch rice being planted and sugar palms being collected.

Note: To visit Banteay Srei temple, visitors are required to wear proper attire, covering shoulders and knees to show their culture respect, as this temple is still considered as a sacrificial site for the Khmer people (no short skirt nor short trousers).

Lunch is at your leisure before we continue our temple trip and get lost at root-riddled Ta Prohm, made famous in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, starring Angelina Jolie. We then head to the smaller temples of Preah Khan and Neak Pean.

Dinner is accompanied by a traditional apsara show, the enchanting dance that was once used to entertain Angkor’s elite.

Overnight stay in Siem Reap

Day 14 : Siem Reap – Sambor Prei Kuk – Phnom Penh by overland (B / L / -)

Travelling to Phnom Penh, we stop at Sambor Prei Kuk, one of the most ancient surviving examples of Khmer architecture. This side excursion at Sambor Prei Kuk, in Kompong Thom province, reveals a pre-Angkorian complex consisting of 176 clay brick temples, among which 106 are within a distance of 5 km. It was built during King Isanavarman's reign when he successfully united the Khmer mainland with the Khmer water territory.

It is interesting to visit Sambor Prey before visiting Angkor Wat complex as its design and style are the foundations that inspired the Angkor civilisation. Most of the temples date back to the beginning of the 7th century. After our exploration, we continue to Phnom Penh where we check-in to the hotel.

Day 15 : Phnom Penh – Chau Doc by boat (B / L / D)

Soaking up the sights and sounds of Cambodia’s vibrant capital city, we visit the capital’s most significant sites. We start at the National Museum of Arts that houses the most important artefacts from the Angkor era. This was designed in a Khmer-style in 1920 by a French architect.

Next we visit the Silver Pagoda which sits within the Royal Palace’s grounds. Once a wooden house, it was rebuilt in 1962 in concrete and marble and it is famed for its 90 kg solid gold Buddha made in 1907, plus an emerald Buddha said to be made of baccarat crystal. We then continue to the Royal Place built by the French in 1866. Here we are required to dress appropriately and cover our shoulders, arms and legs and short skirts, or short trousers are not allowed.

Afterwards we transfer to Phnom Penh pier (Sisowath Street) for our departure by boat (Joint boat) to Chau Doc (around 4h-4h30) (See separate price for boat ticket)

Day 16 : Chau Doc – Can Tho (B / L / D)

Morning visit to Mubarat Muslim cathedral, Lady Xu temple, and Thoai Ngoc Hau tomb. Go up to the Sam Mountain and enjoy the panoramic view from the top. Take boat trip to visit the floating fish farms and an Islamic village where women are still wearing veil and make colorful traditional fabrics on hand looms.

Then drive to Can Tho for relaxation.

Day 17 : Can Tho – Sa Dec – Ho Chi Minh (B / L / -)

Morning boat trip to visit Cai Rang floating market where daily activities take place along the river.

Departure from Can Tho to Sadec. Visit Kien An Cung pagoda, built by the Chinese in 1924, the Rose Garden of Mr.Tu Ton and the village where Marguerite Duras, (the famous French writer of “L’Amant”), lived. Later, discover how bricks are traditionally made in the brick kilns scattered along the national road.

Continue the road to Ho Chi Minh City. Transfer to hotel to check-in.

Day 18 : Ho Chi Minh – Tay Ninh – Cu Chi (B / L / -)

Drive to Tay Ninh, home Cao-Daism religion which combines Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism and Confucianism. Attend the ceremony at Tay Ninh church at noon.

After lunch en route, visit Cu Chi Tunnels, an amazing complex of the underground tunnels used during the Vietnam war. Return to Ho Chi Minh.

Our local expert who accompanies you are delighted to show you his/her island city to appreciate the beauty of nature, history and architecture of Phuket's oldtown and try out Phuket specialty and will serve you the best of Phuket experience. The trip features to most southern of Phuket Island to Promthep Cape, it looks like a curve cape extending into the Andaman Sea. It is surrounded by palm trees and grasses. On the right side is Nai Harn Beach and Koh Man. On the left side, you will see a small beach called Nai Yah beach.

Next to visit the Big Buddha is one of the most important and revered landmarks on the island. The huge image sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills, this buddha image is a stunning piece of contemporary art which measures in at 25.45 meters wide and 45 meters in height. The image is made from reinforced concrete and covered in white and jade ‘Suriyakanta’ marble which also affords great views over Chalong Bay from the front face of the image and of Kata, Karon and other smaller bays to the rear.

Then a visit to the acclaimed Chalong Temple; famed for its Portuguese architecture. Loved by both Asian and foreign visitors, the temple's highlight is a wax sculpture of the abbot housed in an air-conditioned Thai-style house next to the chapel. Then drive to Phuket Old Town, visit beauty elegant architecture buildings reflecting European influence in the early 20th, take you back to a charm of a century ago.

After a detailed briefing, your professional guide paddles you and your partner through “Tidal Nape” Sea Caves literally inside Phang Nga Bay’s marine limestone karstic islands into “Hongs“(Thai for “Room”). The hidden cliff-lined lagoons are populated with macaques, water monitors, kingfishers, mudskippers, egrets, Sea Eagles and Brahminy Kites. We finish after dark by floating your own self-made flower “Kratong” in a spiritual and spectacular Natural light show. Eating our delicious seafood-vegan buffet on the trip back, you return to the pier two hours after sunset.

Moving to try unique Phuketian food O TAO selected by Michelin Found only in Phuket, O Tao is a unique stir-fried dish made with seafood and battered taro. Cooked over a charcoal flame, the textures and flavours are well-balanced and the smoky aroma very pleasing. Prepare to arrive early, as crowds gather nightly. Fried oysters are also available. 

Continue on your culinary adventure by walking and around Classical Phuket Old Town to observe the night life of living. Street food and food shop that open until midnight is almost everywhere in Phuket town area. Taking picture of heritage building at night while learning about its culture before zipping local soft drink with storytelling from our local guide. Phuket viewpoint is included in the tour for taking picture. 

The day will end with typical Thai Desert and Typical Phuketian desert at Suan Luang Area. Try local Roti , created as a communal pancake , all roti here comes from one huge charcoal flat pan, and one guy shapes, fries, taps and cuts faster than the eye can see. Order code numbers stand for the number of roti to eggs. Don't miss the tender beef curry, which is also good. Sweet desert with ice called O aew which originally introduced by Phuket people is your last menu for today before send you back to hotel.
