OVERVIEW

This journey begins in Yangon, where you'll explore the city’s rich cultural heritage, including the ancient Sule Pagoda and the bustling Bogyoke Market. A walking tour reveals the city’s colonial architecture and historical landmarks like the Secretariat. You'll also visit the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda. In Mandalay, where you’ll explore sacred sites such as Mahamuni Pagoda and the Golden Palace Monastery, ending the day with a sunset view from Mandalay Hill. From there, travel to Amarapura, cross the ancient U Bein teak bridge, and journey to Bagan, where you’ll visit its famous pagodas, including Shwezigon Pagoda.

Continuing to Sale and Magyikan Village, you’ll experience local culture and history, including visits to monasteries and temples. You’ll then return to Bagan before heading to Kalaw, a hill station known for its ethnic markets. The adventure continues at Inle Lake, where you’ll see traditional Inthar rowers, floating gardens, and ethnic villages. A visit to the Indein Pagoda complex and local agricultural villages adds a touch of rural charm. 

Day 1 : Yangon 

Upon arrival, we meet you and transfer to your hotel. Then it is time to start exploration of the former capital with a visit to the 2,000 year-oldSule Pagoda. We then stroll through Bogyoke (Scott’s) Market (closed on Monday and public holidays) which has abundant food, clothes, handicrafts and gems stores.

Get ready to soak up vibrant sights and sounds on this living history walking tour of one of Yangon’s most celebrated cultural areas. Our exploration is focused on Bogalazay Street, an area rich in heritage buildings, we stroll along Bogalazay Street, a thoroughfare that is a major focus of restoration work to return it to its former glory. Alsowe view one of Yangon’s most iconic public buildings, the Secretariat where General Aung San was assassinated in 1947. 

The highlight of today’s attraction is an extended visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, bejewelled Shwedagon Pagoda. Please note: early check-in is subject to availability, requires prior booking and will incur additional charges from the hotel.

Day 2 : Yangon – Mandalay (B / L / -)

After breakfast we transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Mandalay. Our tour takes in the best sites of this fascinating city including the revered religious shrines of Mahamuni Pagoda, the Shwe Inbin Monastery, the Golden Palace Monastery and Kuthodaw Pagoda which contains the world’s largest book made from 729 slabs of marble inscribed with the entire teachings of the Theravada Buddhist Pali Canon. Mandalay is also a major handicrafts centre and we visit a Kalaga tapestry shop, followed by a trip to Mandalay Hill to watch the setting sun.

Lunch is at local restaurant and dinner is charged to your own account.

Day 3 : Mandalay – Bagan  (B / L / -)

After breakfast, we head to Amarapura, a former royal capital near Mandalay.Then we head to the ancient U Bein teak bridge. Next is a traditional hand-woven silk workshop, followed by Bagaya Monastery with its superb collection of Buddha statues. 

After lunch at a local restaurant,proceed to Bagan by car (approximately 4 hrs).

Visit the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan including Shwezigon Pagoda built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious monument to newly introduced Theravada Buddhism.

Dinner is charged to your own account.

Day 4 : Bagan - Magyikan Village (B / L / D)

After breakfast at hotel, visits to the historical Ananda Temple with its four magnificent standing Buddha statues. This includes That Byinnyu pagoda built by King Alaung Si Thu in the 12th century before drive approximately 1 hour to Sale and on the way; we visit the busy local market (on market days only) in Chauk.

Upon arrival, your visits include the SarsanaYaunggyi Wooden Monastery to discover a rare collection of Buddhist scriptures, inscribed on palm leaves and Shan papers, the Man Paya which is a large lacquer Buddha image said to date from the 13th century. We then continue our visit to the Yoke Sone Monastery with its exceptional woodcarvings on the outside of the building build around 1882 and continue to the house of the main donor of this ancient monastery.

Lunch is at Sale House restaurant situated on the bank of Irrawaddy River which once was the residence of a rich local family. Upstairs of the restaurant is like a mini museum where you can find collections of antique artifacts.

Continue your day with a visit to the Shin Pin Sarkyowhere King Anawratha welcomed the teaching text of Buddha from lower Burma in the 11th century. There, visit five pagodas built by five brothers. We proceed to “Magyikan Village” and settle at long leg local house built for the CBT project of the village upon arrival.

Home cooked meal will be served as dinner.

Overnight stay at local house of the village with simple and basis accommodation.

Day 5 : Bagan  (B / - / -)

Enjoy simple traditional breakfast served by the villagers before we stroll around the Village and have a talk with village head who will explain you about the village and how they started the CBT project. Follow with one of the villagers to his plantation or farm and plant trees for greening the surrounding of the village and saving the environment. We then drive back Bagan and transfer to the hotel.

Day 6 : Bagan – Kalaw (B / L / -)

After breakfast, we continue our drive through varied agricultural landscapes and villages to Kalaw (approximately 275 km – 7 hours). 

After lunch at a simple local restaurant en-route, the journey continues on a narrow, winding and bumpy road through the Shan Hills. 

In the late afternoon we reach Kalaw, a delightful hill station on the rim of the Shan Plateau. This destination is a market centre for ethnic minorities from surrounding. We proceed to hotel where tonight dinner is served.

Day 7 : Kalaw – Inle Lake (B / L / -)

After breakfast followed by a stroll through local market (on market days only), we drive to Nyaung Shwe (approximately 62 km – 1 hour) for a full day exploration of Inle Lake takes in the famous Inthar one-leg rowers, floating gardens, village life and magnificent mountain scenery. 

We will visit the Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, one of the most sacred shrines in Myanmar that dates back to the 18th century; the Nga PhaeKyaung Monastery with its superb collection of antique Buddha statues; the weaving village of Inpawkhon; and a colourful local market (on market days only). We check in to your hotel at the end of the day.

Overnight in Inle Lake.

Day 8 : Inle Lake (B / L / -)

After breakfast we head to the hidden Indein Pagoda complex, one of the most amazing historical sights on the shoreline which consists of hundreds of small stupas overgrown with moss. We then travel by boat to Tha Le Oo. The inhabitants of this village are Inthar and Pa O ethnic minority tribes who are renowned for their skilled organic farming methods. During the winter season their harvested sugar cane is sent to an on-site facility where the juice is extracted, made into molasses and sent to the city for use in the production of Mandalay Rum.

You will follow an agro trail that runs from the lake through the village and the surrounding organic farmland in a wide looping curve back to the lake. You will have an opportunity to make your own personal ‘going green’ contribution by planting a tree and place trash baskets around the pagoda complex or village. We transfer you back to hotel at the end of the day.

Day 9 : Inle Lake (B / - / -)

After breakfast, the day is at your own leisure for rest and relaxation.

Day 10 : Inle Lake – Yangon (B / L / -)

After breakfast,if time permit, visit to the SHWEYANPYAY MONASTERY, then proceed to Heho airport for the flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel directly.

Day 11 : Yangon (B / - / -)

After breakfast the day is spent at leisure before a transfer to the airport for onward flights.
