DAY 02 : MEXICO CITY – CITY TOUR & GUADALUPE SHRINE – TEOTIHUACAN – MEXICO CITY

Departure to downtown and visit National Palace (outside), Metropolitan Cathedral and Zocalo Square: Megalopolis such as Mexico City is formed by the gradual fusion of several cities and towns. The roots of Mexico's capital lie in the so-called Historic Center, an area which occupies the original core of the city which the Aztecs set out like a celestial map, aligned according to the four cardinal points.
Continue to Guadalupe Shrine: The Basilica of Guadalupe is a shrine in Mexico City that is an important Catholic pilgrimage site and one of the most visited churches in the world.
Continue to Teotihuacan and visit the site: Teotihuacan is one of the most impressive urban architectural complexes in ancient America, and one of the most spectacular archaeological sites in the world. Teotihuacan’s name, "the place where men become gods," expresses what the city meant to the Aztecs.

Arrival at Tuxtla Gutierrez and transfer to the Grijalva River Pier to navigate and observe the geological wonder that gives the place the well-known name of the “Cañon del Sumidero” (sinkwell canyon), whilst enjoying the diversity of flora and fauna characteristic of the area.

DAY 04 : SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS – SAN JUAN CHAMULA & ZINACANTAN – PALENQUE

Early morning departure to visit the Indigenous Communities of the Tzotzil ethnic group. Our first visit will take us to the town of Chamula for a learning experience with an aim to understanding the fusion of contemporary traditions and ancient Mayan characteristics that give this place its identity. We will then continue towards Zinacantan visit the church and the home of a family.

DAY 05 : PALENQUE – CAMPECHE

Visit to the archaeological site of Palenque: A Mayan city known for its architectural and sculptural heritage with a number of admirable buildings including: the Palace, the Temple of the Foliated Cross, and the Temple of the Sun amongst others.

DAY 06 : CAMPECHE – UXMAL – MERIDA

Visit the city of Campeche: Campeche earned its United Nations World Heritage designation primarily for its network of city walls, bastions, and forts, and visiting them is high on travelers’ lists; most have been meticulously restored and contain small but excellent museums.
Transfer to Uxmal. Uxmal is a large pre-Columbian city of the Mayan civilization in the state of Yucatan, Mexico. Although it is believed that they also have more than one hidden tomb of the gods. The place name is Pre-Columbian and it is usually assumed to be an archaic Maya language phrase meaning "Built Three Times", although some scholars of the Maya language dispute this derivation.

DAY 07 : MERIDA – CHICHEN ITZA

Visit the city Merida is known as the White City, nowadays one of the most tranquil and safest cities in Mexico. Her remote Mayan roots, superb colonial monuments and the splendor of her turn to the XIX century architecture, has made Merida aptivating mixture of cultural influences.
Departure to Chichen Itza Site. Chichen - Itza, world famous archaeological zone is located 120 km from Merida via federal highway 180 in the State of Yucatan Mexico. Chichen - Itza is the most visited archaeological site in the peninsula of Yucatan, due to its extraordinary architecture beauty and its geographical location. It was founded in the year 514 of our era by the priest LAKIN CHAN who was also called Itzamna. This is why their people were called since the foundation, chanes or itzaes.
