Day 1 : Kuala Lumpur – Cameron Highlands (- / - / -)

Depart at 08.30h from your hotel in Kuala Lumpur to the Cameron Highlands. En route, visit the famous Batu Caves with the shrine of the Hindu Deity Lord Subramaniam set within an outcrop of limestone caves. Batu Caves is a popular place of worship for the Hindus and each year during their auspicious celebration of Thaipusam hundreds of thousands of Hindu will throng the temple.

After the cave, continue to the Cameron Highlands, which are 1,542 metres above sea level and have the prefect climate to grow tea. On the way north to the Hill Resort of Cameron Highlands, visit the Lata Iskandar Waterfall. Upon arrival at the Cameron Highlands, check in at the hotel. Rest of the afternoon/evening is free at leisure.

Day 2 : Cameron Highlands – Penang (B / - / -)

After breakfast at the hotel, leave for a tour of the Cameron Highlands visiting a tea plantation, tea factory, a vegetable farm, and the market square. Afterwards, continue the journey towards Penang. En route visits include the Sam Poh Tong Cave Temple in Ipoh, the Ubudiah Mosque and Iskandariah Palace in Kuala Kangsar. Cross over to Penang, using the fourth longest bridge in Southeast Asia arriving in the evening. (Note: The tea plantation is closed on Mondays).

Day 3 : Penang (B / - / -)

Breakfast at hotel. Leave for a half day "Around Penang" tour including visits to a batik factory, a nutmeg and clove stall, the Snake Temple and Wat Chayamangalaram Temple. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 4 : Penang – Kota Bharu (B / - / -)

After breakfast at the hotel, drive towards Kota Bharu using the East-West Highway. This route offers breathtaking views of the tropical rainforest. If you are lucky you may have to stop for elephants crossing the road. You should arrive in Kota Bharu in the evening. (Note: Some places in the East Coast are closed on Fridays and during Ramadhan fasting month.)

Day 5 : Kota Bharu – Kuala Terengganu (B / - / -)

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, have a short orientation tour through Kota Bharu and visit the colourful wet market. Most of the market traders are women, which is a unique aspect of the culture of Kelantan State. Watch out for a variety of local items like batik clothes, cloth with exotic patterns, fruits and vegetables. Kota Bahru is also famous for its silverware and trinkets, kite making, top spinning and songket weaving. There is an opportunity to see how brown sugar is tapped and processed. The town also offers a wide variety of local sweet cakes and delicacies, unique to this part of the country.

Continue the journey to Terengganu. Visit Pulau Duyong Besar, the largest island in the estuary. Fishing boats are built here using age-old techniques and tools. Drive through Chinatown and view the Maziah Palace and State Mosque. (Note: Some places in the East Coast are closed on Fridays and during Ramadhan fasting month.)

Overnight in Kuala Terengganu

Day 6 : Kuala Terengganu – Kuantan / Cherating (B / - / -)

9:00 hours Breakfast at the hotel. Today, depart to Kuantan with a visit to Cherating Village along the way. We stop at local villages to observe their traditional way of living. There is the chance to watch pandan leaves being weaved into bags, mats and crafts and see the antics of trained monkeys plucking coconuts.

Free at leisure in Cherating. (Note: Some places in the East Coast are closed on Fridays and during Ramadhan fasting month.)

Overnight in Kuantan / Cherating

Day : 7 Kuantan – Kuala Lumpur (B / - / -)
