DAY 1 : TOKYO

Arrival at the airport, after passport control and baggage reclaim, transfer to Tokyo, the current capital.

*Rooms are available from 15:00.

English-speaking assistant available from the airport to the hotel to give information and help with check-in once at the hotel. Airport-hotel transfer by public transport.

Telephone assistance in English for the duration of the stay.

Assistance on arrival and transfer may be shared with other tour participants.

DAY 2 : TOKYO

Breakfast at the hotel.

Full day dedicated to visiting Tokyo with an English-speaking guide.

We start with a splendid view of the megalopolis from the observatory of the Bunkyo Civic Center. Then we will visit the Edo Fukagawa musem where we find a lifesize representation of daily life in the area at the time. Finally we will take you to visit the characteristic Asakusa district, Senso-ji Temple, the oldest in the city, and the long Nakamisedori boulevard with its traditional shops stand. Finally, we stroll to the Ginza district where the visit ends.

DAY 3 : TOKYO - OGOTO ONSEN

****Your luggage will be transported separately to Kyoto by courier. Please remember to pack a hand luggage to spend one night in ryokan in Ogoto Onsen****

Breakfast at the hotel.

Full day without assistance. Transfer from Tokyo to Ogoto Onsen via Kyoto using the bullet train (2nd class reserved seats) and regional train (with IC card) (approx. 3 hours). We recommend devoting the day to relaxing at the ryokan spa in Ogoto, a town very close to Kyoto and located on the shores of Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan, renowned for the beneficial properties of its waters. In order to fully enjoy the experience, we recommend reaching the ryokan no later than 5 p.m. and soaking in the thermal baths three times: before dinner, before going to bed and the following morning.

Dinner will be served in traditional Japanese style.

Alternatively, it is possible to visit Mount Hiei, where Enryaku-ji, the main temple of the Tendai Buddhist school, stands. A magnificent panoramic view can be enjoyed from the monastery complex. Means to reach these points of interest are not included.

Overnight stay in ryokan YUZANSO or similar with rooms equipped with thermal baths for private use.

DAY 4 : OGOTO ONSEN - KYOTO

Breakfast at the ryokan.

Free morning and independent transfer from Ogoto Onsen to Kyoto (approx. 20 minutes) using the IC card .

A half-day tour of Kyoto with an Englishspeaking guide, visiting the Golden Pavilion of Kinkaku-ji, the city's landmark temple, and the Ryoan-ji Temple with its rock garden, famous for a composition whose elements are arranged in such a way that they cannot all be seen together at a single glance. To follow, a visit to the ancient Gion district, famous for its tea rooms and the maiko, would-be geisha, who can occasionally be seen roaming its alleys. On return from the visits, luggage will be found at the hotel.

DAY 5 : KYOTO

Breakfast at the ryokan. Full day free at leisure.

Full day dedicated to visiting Nara in English. Visit to Todai-ji, a temple housing the Great Buddha, one of the world's largest bronze statues, and the large Shinto shrine Kasuga, surrounded by some 10,000 lanterns. Both buildings are located in Nara Park, where numerous deer live in semi-freedom. Return to Kyoto, stopping en route at the Fushimi Inari Taisha to admire its endless red portals.

DAY 6 : KYOTO

Full day free at leisure in Kyoto. We recommend a visit to the Buddhist temple Kiyomizu-dera and the Sanjusangen-do, a building housing 1001 wooden statues of the Bodhisattva Kannon. Alternatively, you can choose to use the rechargeable IC card to visit places not far from Kyoto such as Uji, famous for its green tea and the UNESCO Byodo-in heritage temple

DAY 7 : KYOTO - TOKYO

Breakfast at the hotel.

Full day without assistance. Transfer from Kyoto to Tokyo using the Shinkansen (2nd class reserved seats) (approx. 2 hours 30 minutes).
