DAY 1 : ARRIVAL (OVERNIGHT IN TEMPIO DI PAUSANIA) KM 52

Arrival at Olbia airport. After picking up the rental car, departure to Tempio di Pausania area. On this day there are no planned activities. Free time to discover the city on your own.

DAY 2 : ALGHERO, CAPO CACCIA & BAIA DI PORTO CONTE (OVERNIGHT IN TEMPIO DI PAUSANIA) KM 250

Breakfast in the hotel. Today you are free to relax and explore the surroundings or have a swim on the beach or visit Alghero, Capo Caccia and Baia di Porto Conte.

Suggested itinerary: Drive to Alghero. Visit the historical center with its walls and Spanish towers, the Church of San Francesco, the Cathedral, the Bousquet walk.

Opt to carry out an excursion by boat to the Grotte di Nettuno, departing from the port of Alghero. Drive up to the promontory of Capo Caccia and at the bay of Porto Conte for a panoramic excursion. On the way back, we suggest you to stop at Palmavera Nuraghe for a visit. Drive back to your hotel.

DAY 3 : COSTA SMERALDA, PORTO CERVO & PORTO ROTONDO (OVERNIGHT IN TEMPIO DI PAUSANIA) KM 110

Breakfast in the hotel. Today you are free to relax and explore the surroundings or have a swim on the beach or visit the Costa Smeralda Suggested itinerary: The today visit begins with "Il Nurago la Prisgiona" in the Municipality of Arzachena, one of the 7000 round towers dating back to the Bronze Age. This megalithic culture is unique in the whole area of the Mediterranean Sea and is one of Sardinia's most important archeological monuments. Afterwards, you will drive over the magical mountain village of San Pantaleo, with its fascinating granite formations to the emerald coast. In San Pantaleo we will make a short photo stop.

Continue to Baia Sardinia, one of the most requested destinations in Costa Smeralda, thanks to its wonderful beaches. Along the panoramic route of Costa Smeralda one can then discover the many emeraldcolored sand bays that have inspired the founder, Karim Aga Khan, to extend this coastal strip to the most famous and exclusive holiday paradise of jet-set tourism. Visit the fashionable capital of Porto Cervo and discover the fashion boutiques, the exclusive restaurants and the large marina.

DAY 4 : CORSICA (OVERNIGHT IN TEMPIO DI PAUSANIA) KM 100

Breakfast in the hotel. Today you are free to relax and explore the surroundings or have a swim on the beach or spend your day in Corsica.

Suggested itinerary : Drive to the harbour of Santa Teresa di Gallura situated in the extreme North of Sardinia. From there take the ferry boat to Bonifacio. It takes 45 minutes to arrive on the opposite part. There are 13 km seaway between the two islands Corsica and Sardinia. Like most of the harbour cities also Bonifacio has a rich history. The ancient commercial city which was founded between 823 and 833 by the marquis of Tuscany consists in a “Marina” quarter, the lower city and in the “upper city” which is situated on a promontory from where you can enjoy the breathtaking panorama.

On beautiful days one can see the Sardinian coast. The tourist train takes the clients to the upper part where the guests will have a guided visit by foot of about an hour. Take the ferry boat back to Santa Teresa. Drive back to your hotel.

DAY 5 : SANT’ANTIOCO DI BISARCIO & BARUMINI (OVERNIGHT IN CAGLIARI) KM 307

Breakfast in the hotel and departure. First stop in Sant’Antioco di Bisarcio, where stands one of the largest Romanesque churches in Sardinia, famous for the various phases of its building and its enviable scenic position. The church, which was built from volcanic rock and is ten metres high, is one of the most impressive examples of the island's Romanesque heritage.

Continuation to Barumini, where you can visit the Nuraghe Su Nuraxi, archaeological site where there are the remains of a prehistoric set of defensive constructions. At an altitude of 238 m, it is one megalithic monument sites best preserved you can find in Europe. Recognized as the most symbol of Sardinia, this type of cyclopean construction called nuraghe is characterized by the truncated conical tower erection composed of megaliths. Proceed to Cagliari, overnight.

DAY 6 : CAGLIARI & SANTA MARGHERITA DI PULA KM 98

Breakfast in the hotel Today you are free to relax and explore the surroundings or have a swim on the beach or visit Cagliari.

Suggested itinerary : Wake up early and Drive to Cagliari, the main city of Sardinia. Think espresso on the cobbled streets, feeling as though you’ve stepped back into the second century AD as you explore the Roman amphitheatre, popping in to the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Castello and gazing up at the gold hued Royal Palazzi. Our favourite place here is the Torre dell’Elefante – climb to the top for the best views across the city and out to sea. In the afternoon excursion to Santa Margherita di Pula. Founded in the medieval period and developed in the 18th century, it is famous for the archaeological site of Nora, dating from the Phoenician and Roman periods. For its beautiful beaches, it became an important tourist destination Proceed to Cagliari.

DAY 7 : VILLASIMIUS & COSTA REI (OVERNIGHT IN CAGLIARI) KM 143

Breakfast in the hotel Today you are free to relax and explore the surroundings or have a swim on the beach or visit Villasimius and Costa Rei. Suggested itinerary: Wake up early and drive to Villasimius beautiful city near the beach and then to Costa Rei were there are nuraghi in good condition in the area.

Drive back to Cagliari and overnight.

DAY 8 : BARBAGIA & DEPARTURE (AIRPORT OLBIA/CAGLIARI) KM 273

Breakfast in the hotel and drive to Cagliari airport or Olbia. If Olbia, we suggest you to drive to the Supramonte area, visit Mount Tiscali and a prehistoric village. Otherwise, drive south along the SS125 - the serpentine stretch of road weaves through the mountains. Take in incredible views of the Gulf of Orosei and Sardinia's eastern coast as you go. First stop off at the prehistoric village of Serra Orrios in Dorgali area to explore the underground trails of the Ispingoli grottes and then on to the coastal town of Santa Maria Navarrese – it’s a nice place for a dip in the sea!

Drive to Olbia airport, release of the car and end of our services.

Insurance Gold includes :

  • In Gold the amount of the deductible will not be charged. The "Gold" package clears the deductibles provided for damages and total theft and allows you to eliminate the deductible also for damages occurred to the parts of the vehicle not covered by the "Silver" package and the coverage of windows and tires is provided. Partial theft, attempted theft, damage to the roof, damage to the lower part of the vehicle, damage to the interior and damage caused by vandalism, riots, etc. are excluded.
