Day 1 : Phnom Penh – Chiphat (- / L / D) 

In the morning, you will be picked up from hotel and venture deep into the Cardamom Mountains to the village of Chiphat, one of the Community Based tourism sites in this area (transfer will be without guide).

After around 6 hours drive you will reach the community.

Upon arrival enjoy a walking tour around the village or take a biking tour to nearby waterfall Chay Chrey or Chay Thom waterfalls.

Meals will be served in the community restaurant, with local food prepared by the village women.

Overnight in Chiphat – Bungalow

DAY 2 : Chiphat - Wildlife Release Centre (B / L / D) 

Today we you will start your tour to the wildlife release center.

Located remotely in the Cardamom Mountains, the Wildlife Release Station (WRS) is one of the main sites used by the Wildlife Alliance for releasing animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trafficking trade in Cambodia. Animals suitable for release are kept in safe-release enclosures around the station before their reintroduction to the wild. Wildlife Alliance is proud to offer exclusive overnight stays at the station in rustic chalets, with various of activities in the surrounding protected forest. 100% of tour profits go towards the rescue, rehabilitation and release of wildlife in Cambodia.

Your day will possibly look like this (changes to due to weather conditions or other unforeseeable events always possible):
8:00AM : Pick-up at CBET office in Chi Phat village to drive to Wildlife Release Station
8:30 AM : Arrive, tea/coffee in the main chalet, settle in to bungalows
9:00AM : Hike through the jungle spotting local flora and fauna (1-hour to 3-hour hikes available based on guest's preference)
11:00AM : Swim in nearby stream (only available during the rainy season)
12:30 AM : Local lunch
1:30 PM : Relax in hammocks, spot birds around the Station
2:30 PM : Follow keepers during afternoon feeding of animals
4:00 PM : Check camera traps around the Station for resident wildlife (guests might also have the option to choose a new location and set up a camera trap to check the following day)
5:30 PM : Local dinner (bonfire available during the dry season)
7:00 PM  : Evening feeding of nocturnal animals and a short walk to spot eye-shine of resident wildlife
8:30-9PM : Bedtime

Please note: there are no powerlines in the release center. Electricity is generated by solar panels, so there is only a limited supply. Please bring along sufficient power banks to charge your gadgets.

Day 3 : Wildlife Release Centre (B / L / D) 

In the morning, you can join the keepers for the feeding of the animals. Following that, breakfast is serve.. A hike through the jungle awaits, with alternative trails available for exploration. Take a break at noon for a local lunch.

In the afternoon, around 2:30 PM, follow the keepers again for the afternoon feeding of the animals. Afterwards check camera traps for resident wildlife. As the evening sets in, enjoy a local dinner at 5:00 PM. Participate in the evening feeding of nocturnal animals and take a short walk PM to spot eye-shine.

Day 4 : Wildlife Release Centre – Chiphat – Cardamom Tented Camp (B / L / D) 

Today we leave Chiphat and move to the Cardamom Tented Camp. Pick up by private vehicle (transfer time approx. 3 hours). Fresh up at the lodge’s lounge before embarking for the ca. 45 min. boat trip over the Preak Tachan River to the Cardamom Tented Camp. Settle into your comfortable safari-style tent.

This afternoon you can go for a tour on an exploratory hike in the jungle around the camp. The diversity of the fauna will amaze you. Get information on the conservation and protection work of the Wildlife Alliance in this protected area of Koh Kong.

Day 5 : Cardamom Tented Camp (B / L / D) 

After an early breakfast, Wildlife Alliance Rangers will meet us and together with an Englishspeaking guide embark on patrol over a network of abandoned poaching and logging trails through the dense forest. Keep your eyes open to spot wildlife. The half – day hike will stop by the Ranger Station, where confiscated snares, traps and improvised hunting rifles are on display. Use one of the kayaks, or hike back to the camp.

Day 6 : Cardamom Tented camp – Departure (B / - / -) 

Breakfast at leisure. If you are an early riser, you can go on a self-guided hike on the trails around the camp. Around 10:00 am board to boat back to the Cardamom Tented Camp Departure Lodge.

Any transfer from the tented camp to next destination is not included, prices are indicated separately as per below costing column. You have the option to extend your stay at the beautiful beaches at Koh Rong or Koh Rong Sanloem (available upon request).
