OVERVIEW

Kampot Pepper at La Plantation, a family business that produces red, white, and black Kampot pepper organically using traditional farming techniques and harvested by hand. Set in a stunning countryside setting, visitors watch a presentation, embark on a guided tour of the plantation, try the infamous pepper and understand how La Plantation supports the local community by providing jobs, teaching skills and funding its primary school. A traditional ox-cart can be used to explore the plantation and Khmer cooking classes are also available.

Cambodia's leading seaside destination, Sihanoukville is located off a peninsula on the Gulf of Thailand. It is Cambodia‘s gateway to a delightful archipelago of popular off-shore islands. This coastal city has undergone rapid development to accommodate a growing tourism industry. Dining, drinking and partying are in abundance, as well as a wealth of accommodation choices to suit all budgets. The off- shore island of Koh Rong provides great sunbathing and snorkelling experiences. For a more exclusive environment, the nearby small islands of Koh Russey, and Koh Krabey offer the ultimate tropical island experience, without the tourism development seen in other regional destinations.

Day 1 : Phnom Penh – Kep

Trade in the capital’s chaos for the quiet charm of coastal Kep. After check-out from the hotel, we set off on a nearly four hour scenic drive from Phnom Penh to the quaint compact town (163 km). Upon arrival, we check-in at our accommodation with the rest of the day at our leisure to settle into laidback Kep life. Kep was once called Kep-sur-Mer and catered to the country’s elite from the 1920s to 1970s and was dotted with weekend villas belonging to colonial French and upper-class Cambodians.

Today, it is famed for its lively crab market, delicious fresh seafood, sweeping countryside and coastline, and small stretch of sand. It is also home to Kep National Park, salt plains and a short boat ride away sits Rabbit Island.
Please note: Official check-in time is 2 pm.

Overnight in Kep.

Day 2 : Kep (B / - / -)

Spend the day discovering Kep town. You will drive around and discover Samadhi pagoda, with a amazing view on the bay, the “Siren of the Sea” statue near the beach, the street art on the abounded villas, the King’s mother house. We will also go in the surrounding to visit a salt field.

Lunch is at our leisure before we return to Kep, with the rest of the day free to snack on crab and Kampot pepper at the market, splash in the sea or take a stroll along the promenade.

Overnight in Kep.

Day 3 : Kep (B / L / -)

A day at sea is awaiting us today. We will embark on a traditional boat for a day trip around Kep neighbouring islands. We will spend the day snorkelling, fishing and exploring few islands. Lunch is on board: a barbecue with Rosé. We return to Kep, with the rest of the day free to snack on crab and Kampot pepper at the market, splash in the sea or take a stroll along the promenade.

This tour is available during high season only.

Overnight in Kep.

Day 4 :  Kep – Kampot – Kep (B / L / -)

Get the tastebuds popping and learn about world-famous Kampot pepper. After breakfast, we hit the road for neighbouring Kampot (23 km). Our first stop is at La Plantation, which produces one of Cambodia’s most famous ingredient: Kampot pepper. Used by top chefs in kitchens across the globe, the sharp pepper comes in four forms – black, green, red and white – and adds a real kick to dishes. Here, we can learn how it is farmed and what makes this unique pepper so special.

We then enjoy a cooking class, and try our artwork for lunch. After lunch, we continue to the Secret Lake for a short visit, then drive along country roads takes us through sprawling farmland and paddies that stretch to the horizon. Farmers tending to their land and grazing buffalos. Kampot is our destination. We have a city tour to discover the colonial buildings, the old cinema and the quay. On the way back to Kep, we have a boat trip through the mangrove during sunset. The perfect spot to end the day.

Overnight in Kep.

Day 5 : Kep – Bokor – Kep (B / L / -)

Today we take a longer ride to Bokor Mountain, the highest point on the coast. This tour will take you up to the summit of mystical Bokor Mountain, where you can discover abandoned but hauntingly beautiful old buildings from a glorious distant past. The buildings may look dilapidated but the magnificent views and sense of awe are still there. On the way back to town, down the mountain, we walk on a short trail through the jungle to reach Veal Pouch waterfall. Located in Preah Monivong National Park, this waterfall has several levels. Some are ideal for swimming. We go back to the hotel after our swim. Dinner is at leisure.

Overnight in Kep.

Day 6 : Kep – Koh Rong (B / - / -)

Today sees us bid a fond farewell to the calm of coastal life as we ahead to the beach side of Sihanoukville. In the morning, we leave behind Kep life and head for the coastal destination of Sihanoukville for a five-hours drive. We drive along roads that wind through seemingly endless stretches of paddies and farmland, small villages and vibrant market towns. We are then driven to the pier to board a shared speedboat for a 45-minute-plus cruise to Koh Rong.

After checking-in at the resort, we have the rest of the day free at leisure to start laidback island life, with two days ahead of us to kick back on the island’s powder white shores, explore its jungle interior, or hit the waters to explore other nearby islands. Lunch and dinner are at your leisure. Koh Rong is Cambodia’s largest island and it is blessed with a stunning range of blissful beaches and a rugged jungle interior.

Please note: The official check-in time is 2 pm. An early check-in is subject to room availability.

Overnight in Koh Rong.

Day 7 : Koh Rong (B / - / -)

Unwind on the shore, go beach-hopping, or discover the vibrant underwater world with a free day to kick back on Koh Rong. Koh Rong remains relatively undeveloped, with a smattering of resorts, guesthouses and small communities speckled along its shores. Koh Touch is where the public ferry drops visitors, and this is home to a bustling stretch of lively guesthouses and bars that generally welcome the backpacker crew. Those seeking a deserted island life can catch a boat to northern Lonely Beach, a 7 km stretch of powder white sands without the people.

With delicious clear turquoise waters beckoning, a snorkelling session is a great way to dive into the underwater world, or explore the sea by kayak, or paddle-board. Cap off the day with sundowners watching a stunning sunset. Lunch and dinner are at your leisure.

Please note: There is no car or guide available today.

Overnight in Kong Rong.

Day 8 : Koh Rong – Phnom Penh (B / - / -)

We will check-out and head to the pier to board a shared speedboat four a 45-minute-plus cruise back to the mainland. We arrive at about 12.30 pm and will be met by our driver to hit the road for Phnom Penh on a 220 km, three hour journey.

Upon arrival in the capital, we check-in to our hotel, with the rest of the evening at leisure to relax, or enjoy the capital’s vibrant nightlife.
