Day 1 : Lima (- / - / -)

Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you at the airport to transfer you to the selected hotel.

Rest of the day free to rest or take an excursion (on request), if time permits.

Overnight in Lima.

Day 2 : Lima (B / - / -)

Breakfast at the hotel.

City Tour in Lima :

Between 9:10 and 9:40 or between 14:10 and 14:40 hours, depending on your choice, we will pick you up from your hotel to start the panoramic city tour where we can see the Colonial Centre, the Plaza Mayor, the Palace of Government, the Cathedral Basilica, the Archbishop's Palace and the Municipality of Lima. Also, we will visit Santo Domingo, a convent with cloisters and catacombs of the Colonial period.

The tour starts with a panoramic view of the Huaca Pucllana and the traditional, residential and commercial areas of Lima to continue with the historic centre of Lima and end with a spectacular panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and the beaches of the Miraflores district from the park of love.

Day 3 : Lima / Cusco (B / - / -)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board the flight to the city of Cusco.

Arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel. Free time to rest.

City tour in Cusco and Nearby Ruins :

Between 13:00 and 13:30 hours, our staff will pick you up from the hotel to start the tour of the colonial city, built on the bases of Inca palaces. In the tour we will visit the Main Square, the Temple of the Sun, also known as Qoricancha, and the Cathedral of Cusco, where we can see beautiful paintings and sculptures. Then we will continue to the archaeological centre of Sacsayhuaman, a multipurpose place where the Sun, the Moon and the Earth were worshiped, and which was also used as a military fortress and an astrological centre.

Later we will arrive at Q'enco, a cult centre related to the fire element. We continue with Puca Pucara, a place used as a supply centre and Inca checkpoint, where wind ceremonies were also held. At the end of the tour we will arrive at Tambomachay, centre of cult to water and fertility. Return to the hotel and spend the night in Cusco.

Day 4 : Cusco / Sacred Valley (B / L / -)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Full Day Sacred Valley :

Between 08:00 and 08:30 hours our staff will pick you up from your hotel to start the tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we visit the beautiful town of Pisac, its handicraft market and its narrow streets.

We will continue the tour through the Sacred Valley to Urubamba, where you can enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.Then we will visit Ollantaytambo, a still inhabited Inca City that preserves a complex system of irrigation Canals and foundations of the time when much of the village was built. The archaeological site of Ollantaytambo has large groups of terraces, fortresses, squares, canals and the Sun Royal House, a megalithic temple of great mystical value. Overnight in the Sacred Valley.

Day 5 : Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu / Cusco (B / L / -)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Excursion to Machu Picchu :

At the indicated time, transfer to the train station to start the excursion to the Sacred City of Machu Picchu, recognized as one of the wonders of the world and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The train takes us to the town of Aguas Calientes, from where we will ascend by bus to the Archaeological Centre and start the guided tour that lasts approximately 2 hours. During the visit you can see temples, squares, terraces, houses, barns, as well as the great biodiversity that exists in the surroundings. It is worth noting that the beauty of Machu Picchu is exalted by the extraordinary scenery where it is located.Around the citadel has been formed a National Reserve that has an area of 32,500 hectares, and that includes a constellation of archaeological monuments, which, in our opinion, were built as part of the Machu Picchu complex and not in isolation.

At the indicated time we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we have lunch included. Return by train to Cusco city. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel.

Day 6 : Cusco / Puerto Maldonado (B / L / D)

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport to continue with your itinerary in Puerto

Maldonado :

Arrive into Puerto Maldonado, coined the Capital of Biodiversity. Begin your authentic Amazon adventure with a 25-minute boat ride navigating the clay-coloured Madre de Dios River to reach hidden jungle lodge, Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion. Settle into your stylish stilted wooden cabaña or room on our private eco-reserve then head to the palm-thatched Casa Grande dining room for a hearty buffet lunch before exploring the depths of the jungle on foot, starting from the Eco Centre.

Concepcion Trails :

You will enter the jungle through a guided walk along the Trail System in the natural area of Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica, where you will discover the wonderful Amazon Basin. This excursion offers an excellent introduction to the jungle ecosystem, passing through impressive trees such as the Shihuahuaco and the strangely beautiful Ficus Strangler, offering excellent opportunities for bird watching and exotic insects.Twilight River

At sunset, take a guided boat ride, sailing through the Madre de Dios River. Witness the transformation from a daytime world to a nocturnal one: birds and other daytime animals give way to species specially adapted to the night. As you enjoy the nature around you, keep an eye out for nightjars, owls, capybaras, and up to three different species of alligators.

In the evening, enjoy dinner served in the main dining room from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Day 7 : Jungle Lodge (B / L / D)

Enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Lake Sandoval :

This morning visit Lake Sandoval, a glassy, ox-bow lake located inside the protected Tambopata National Reserve, one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet. Reached via a sun-dappled jungle trail, Inkaterra explorer guides enjoy regaling visitors with their tales of unexpected encounters with poison frogs and camouflaged creatures. Board a dugout wooden canoe to quietly paddle through mangroves and glide onto Lake Sandoval, flanked by picture-perfect palms. This serene lake is home to thousands of species of birds, the endangered giant river otter, red howler monkeys, red-bellied macaws, anacondas, side-neck turtles and black caimans.

Return to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion in time for lunch.

Inkaterra Canopy Walkway & Walk through the tropical forest :

After lunch, consider visiting the Inkaterra Canopy. As you climb the first tower, 29 meters above the forest floor, your encounter with the species that inhabit the treetops will begin. You will literally walk through the tropical forest for approximately 400 meters, on a network of bridges that connect eight observation platforms. During this two-hour expedition tour, be on the lookout for colorful toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, monkeys, sloths, among other species. If you wish, you can extend your excursion to appreciate the sunset in one of the towers. Once at the lodge, enjoy the nature presentation at the Eco Center and Happy Hour.Back at the lodge, à la carte dinner is served from 19:30.

Day 8 : Jungle Lodge (B / L / D)

Walk through the Gamitana Gorge :

Enjoy a walk through the Quebrada Gamitana, located 25 minutes by boat from the hostel. Explore the jungle for an hour and a half, along the winding Quebrada Gamitana, home to piranhas, alligators, turtles, and birds, until you reach the Sanipanga stop. Navigate the river appreciating the abundant flora and fauna of the tropical jungle. You will return to the Gamitana model farm for a short guided tour where you will learn more about a model farm in the Amazon. Return to Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica to enjoy your lunch.

Excursion through the Concepción Hacienda :

After lunch, enjoy the excursion to the Hacienda Concepción, with the possibility of seeing more than 200 different species of plants, and learning about the current uses and benefits of the local flora. Next, take a 30-minute canoe trip in search of turtles, nightjars, and exotic herons.Night walk along the trails Take the Night Jungle excursion through the trails of the Inkaterra Ecological Reserve, in an excursion of approximately 2 hours. Enter the secondary forest and experience the mystery of animal activity that awakens in the jungle at sunset. Listen to the nocturnal sounds of the forest and discover species that only emerge in the dark of night.

Return to the hotel.

Day 9 : Jungle Lodge – Airport (B / - / -)

Enjoy breakfast before leaving.

A 45-minute return boat ride across the Madre de Dios River will take you to Puerto Maldonado, where you'll visit the Butterfly House. Peru has the largest variety of butterflies in the world, with 3,700 known species. Many of these can be seen in the Butterfly House, a sample of the variety, beauty and adaptability of these fascinating insects.
