OVERVIEW
This journey begins in Yangon, where you explore its colonial architecture, vibrant markets, and the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda. From there, you travel to Kalaw, a charming hill station on the Shan Plateau, visiting local villages and trekking through rural landscapes. Continuing to Inle Lake, you experience the region’s traditional life, including leg rowers and floating gardens, before visiting pagodas and monasteries.
The adventure moves on to Mandalay, where you explore historic sites, local monasteries, and take in the sunset views from Mandalay Hill. You also visit the colonial town of Pyin Oo Lwin and travel through scenic Shan State. The trip proceeds to Bagan, where you bike through ancient temples, markets, and villages, immersing yourself in the rich cultural heritage of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 1 : Yangon
Upon arrival at Yangon Airport we transfer to the hotel.

Day 2 : Yangon (B / - / -)
After breakfast, the tour provides the ultimate insight into Yangon’s architectural riches. Prominent among these is the landmark colonial-era Strand Hotel, Sule Pagoda which dates back 2,000 years. This is surrounded by busy streets packed with colonial-era buildings such as the Supreme Court Building and City Hall. Highlight attractions include Maha Bandoola Garden which contains the Independence Monument, followed by a stroll through Bogyoke (Scott’s) Market (closed on Monday and public holidays) which has abundant food, clothes, handicrafts and gems stores.
We transfer to the railway station for a journey on the circular commuter train around Yangon We then head for an extended tour of magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda. Please note the trains are very basic and are often crowded. If clients prefer a shorter ride, we are happy to arrange this.

Day 3 : Yangon – Kalaw (B / L / D)
Explore farming villages and meet the tribespeople who call Kalaw home. After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Heho. Upon arrival, we set off on a one-hour drive to Kalaw, a fresh and delightful hill station on the rim of the Shan Plateau. On the way, we stop at a farming village where Pa-O and Shan ethnic people live. We can meet villagers and learn about their unique customs and culture, as well as the traditional techniques used to farm the land.
After lunch, we start a walking tour through this peaceful place that has an atmosphere reminiscent of the colonial era. Nowadays the town is a lively market centre where ethnic minorities from surrounding regions come to trade and buy goods. We then check-in at the hotel with time to rest before dinner.

Day 4 : Kalaw trekking (B / L / D)
After breakfast, you will meet your local trekking guide at your hotel in Nyaung Shwe or Inle Lake and drive (approximately 1.5 hr) to the trekking point in Kalaw, a fresh and delightful hill station on the rim of the Shan Plateau.
We start a walking tour (approximately 1.5 hour) to Yay Aye Kan through this peaceful place that has an atmosphere of the colonial era. Yay Aye Kan was built since British colony period which is supporting water supply to Kalaw area. We have time to explore surrounding where you can observe birds preservation area.
We then continue walking for another 1.5 hour to Hin Khar Kone through stunning rural landscapes and villages, home to the Palaung hill tribe.
Simple local home cooked lunch at the village house.
After lunch, we set off on approximately 2 hours down way to MyinDite, Danu tribe. Along the way, see seasonal cultivation. Then, back to Kalay by car and transfer to hotel.

Day 5: Kalaw – Inle Lake (B / L / D)
After breakfast, we check-out and hit the road for a 1.5 hour drive to Nyang Shwe. Upon arrival, we continue by boat across Inle Lake to see the famous leg rowers, typical floating gardens and farms, local methods of fishing, village life and magnificent scenery.
After lunch at a local restaurant on the lake, We jump ashore to visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, one of the main principle shrines in Myanmar dating back to the 18th century, Nga Phe Chaung Monastery with its beautiful collection of ancient Buddha images and the weaving village of Inpawkhon.
Explore ancient Indein Pagoda before experiencing the traditional way of Inthar life and flying to Mandalay. After an early breakfast, we board a boat and set off on a cruise to the western shore of Inle Lake. We jump ashore and climb some stairs to Indein Pagoda complex. This hillside temple complex is home to over 1,600 Buddhist stupas that date back to between the 14th and 18th centuries

Day 6 : Inle Lake – Mandalay (B / L / D)
After breakfast, we continue our 275 km, approximately seven hours’ drive, through varied agricultural landscapes to Mandalay.

Day 7 : Mandalay (B / L / D)
After breakfast, breakfast, our bike tour heads to Amarapura, 15 km from Mandalay. We will visit a monastery where over a thousand monks live and study. We then continue to U Bein teak Bridge which was built in 1782 when Amarapura was the royal capital.
We return to Mandalay by car and in the afternoon you will experience the best of Mandalay including one of the most revered religious monuments, Mahamuni Pagoda, the Shwe Inbin Monastery, the Golden Palace Monastery and Kuthodaw Pagoda which contains the world’s largest book inscribed on marble slabs. We also visit a traditional hand-woven silk workshop before proceeding to Mandalay Hill to view the sunset.

Day 8 : Mandalay (B / L / D)
After breakfast we transfer by car through the lowland mountains to the former British hill station of Pyin Oo Lwin, a delightful small town of colonial-style buildings, markets and a botanical garden. Our tour is by horse-drawn carriage and takes in the old part of town as well as local markets.
In the afternoon, we transfer to the train station for an interesting journey through the beautiful scenery of northern Shan State. We then return to Pyin Oo Lwin for further sightseeing and then drive back to Mandalay by car/bus.

Day 9 : Mandalay – Bagan (B / L / D)
After breakfast, we drive through lush landscapes (230 km – 5 hours) to Bagan, is famed for its vast collection of temples. The ancient city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and served as the capital from the 9th to 13th centuries.
Lunch is at a local restaurant and dinner is at hotel.

Day 10: Bagan (B / L / D)
Breakfast is at the hotel. This adventure takes us on a two-day biking tour through old Bagan and the idyllic surrounding countryside. First we bike to the small town of Nyaung Oo to visit the local market. We then head to Shwezigon Pagoda, followed by Ku Byauk Gyi, a temple with superb murals of Jataka scenes and Ananda Temple with its four magnificent standing Buddha images.
In the mid-afternoon we bike to Myinkaba Village where we visit a famous lacquerware craftsman’s workshop. We then head to Manuha Temple built in a Mon style in 1059, followed by Nanbaya Temple, a unique sandstone monument said to have been the palace of King Manuha. This perfect day of exploration ends with a sunset view of the temple-dotted plains.

Overnight in Bagan.
Day 11 : Bagan – Yangon (B / L / -)
Breakfast is at the hotel. This excursion takes us on a bike ride on small lanes and trails to Min Nan Thu village which is near Tayokepyay Temple, Phaya Thone Zu and Nandamanya temples. You will have the opportunity to explore these sites, or if you prefer you can bike through the countryside on dusty trails to numerous hidden shrines and pagodas. We return to Bagan for lunch and view Kyat Kan Cave Monastery, a famous meditation retreat.
In the afternoon – depending on departure flight time – we visit some additional temples including Shwegugyi, Sulamani and Dhammayangi which are located in Old Bagan. At the end of the bike tour we transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Yangon. Upon arrival we transfer to the hotel.

Day 12 : Yangon (B / - / -)
After breakfast, we transfer to airport for your international departure flight.
