OVERVIEW

This journey begins with an exploration of Yangon, featuring historic pagodas, the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda, and cultural landmarks before heading to the scenic hill station of Pyin Oo Lwin. From there, travelers continue to Mandalay to visit its famous religious sites and meet an astrologer for a personal insight. The adventure moves on to the ancient city of Bagan, where significant temples and local handicraft workshops are explored. Next, the journey takes a scenic route to Inle Lake, offering a romantic and serene experience with boat rides to pagodas and traditional village walks.

Day 1 : Yangon (- / L / D)

Upon arrival at Yangon airport you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Then it is time to start exploration of the former capital with a visit to the 2,000 year-old Sule Pagoda. We then head to the magnificent 66 metres-long reclining Buddha at Chauk Htat Gyi, followed by a photo stop at the ornate Karaweik Palace. We then view the replica of a royal barge on Kandawgyi Lake. 

The highlight of today’s attraction is an extended visit to the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda where you will offer candles and incense sticks to a Buddha image to wish for an auspicious marriage, as is customary for newly-weds in Myanmar. Then we return to the hotel. 

Lunch is at a local restaurant and a special honeymoon dinner is at Seeds restaurant.

Day 2 : Yangon – Pyin Oo Lwin (B / L / D)

After breakfast we transfer to the airport for domestic flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival we set off on a scenic 80 km (2 hour) drive to the former British hill station of Pyin Oo Lwin. This is a delightful small town of colonial-style buildings, markets and a botanical garden. 

We venture out to visit the Peik Khyin Myaung Caves and then head to Pwe Kyauk Falls, a delightful picnic spot. We make a stop at a lakeside restaurant for sunset drinks before heading back to the hotel where dinner is served.

Overnight in Pyin Oo Lwin.

Day 3 : Pyin Oo Lwin – Mandalay (B / L / D)

After breakfast we visit the local market by horse and cart and then explore Mandalay’s most revered religious monuments, including Mahamuni Pagoda and the Golden Palace Monastery. We then head to Kuthodaw Pagoda to view the world’s largest book made from 729 slabs of marble inscribed with the entire teachings of the Theravada Buddhist Pali Canon. 

In the afternoon, we meet an astrologer who will give a fascinating insight into philosophy, the way auspicious dates are calculated and your own personal good fortune! (Please pay a small fee to the astrologer for his/her service.) 

We then head to Mandalay Hill to view the sunset and return to the hotel to enjoy a 90 minutes oil massage, followed by dinner with a cultural show.

Day 4 : Mandalay – Bagan (B / L / D)

Breakfast is served at the hotel, overland trip to Bagan (around 4 hrs) and upon arrival in Bagan, transfer to hotel check in.

Day 5 : Bagan (B / L / D)

After breakfast we start your day with visits to the most significant pagodas and temples in this historical wonderland including Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Ku Byauk Gyi, a temple with superb murals of Buddhist Jataka scenes; and Ananda Temple with its four magnificent standing Buddha statues. 

In the afternoon, we learn about Myanmar’s most treasured handicrafts and visit a lacquerware workshop in nearby Myinkaba village. Later, we continue to Manuha Temple, an imposing structure built in the Mon style in 1059 and then explore Nanbaya Temple, a unique sandstone monument which used to be palace of famed Mon ruler King Manuha. We complete the day with a sublime sunset view of the Bagan plains from viewing hill. 

Lunch and dinner are at a localrestaurant.

Overnight in Bagan.

Day 6 : Bagan – Inle Lake (B / L / D)

After breakfast at the hotel,a long drive (approximately 8 hours) will take us to Inle Lake. Our journey includes narrow, winding and bumpy roads through the splendour of the Shan hills. And then transfer to hotel for check in. The honeymoon chalet is specially decorated to honour this special occasion.

In the late afternoon it is time for a relaxing massage (60 minutes), followed by a soak in a bathtub decorated with flower petals and a complimentary glass of champagne. A traditional Shan dinner is served at the hotel and upon your return to your chalet you will find a surprise gift!

Overnight in Inle Lake Region.

Day 7 : Inle Lake (B / L / D) 

Breakfast will be served on the terrace of your chalet. Then it is time to board your boat and head to the western shore of Inle Lake to the beginning of a stair path leading to the amazing Indein Pagoda complex, one of the most amazing sites on the shoreline. This consists of hundreds of small stupas overgrown with moss and greenery. Then we take an easy walk alongside one of the many rice fields and villages. Options include a walk back to Indein, or a boat ride to Paung Daw Oo Pagoda. We then return by boat to the hotel. 

Lunch is at a local restaurant and a special romantic dinner is at hotel.

Overnight in Inle Lake Region.    

Day 8 : Inle Lake – Yangon (B / - / -)

After breakfast we transfer by boat to Nyaung Shwe and overland to Heho Airport (32 km – 1 hour) for a domestic flight to Yangon and upon arrival, your car and guide are at your disposal. And transfer back to the airport for your international flight.

Lunch is to your own account.
