The journey begins with an arrival in Yangon, where guests are welcomed and taken to their hotel. The evening features a visit to the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda, a spiritual and architectural marvel in Myanmar. The following day includes a visit to Chaukhtatgyi to see the impressive reclining Buddha, a stroll around the serene Kandawgyi Royal Lake, and a drive through Yangon's colonial downtown. The itinerary also includes a tour of The Secretariat, an important historical site, and a visit to Botahtaung Pagoda, which houses a sacred relic. Afterward, the trip heads to Ngapali Beach for several days of relaxation and leisure by the sea.
Day 1 : Yangon (- / - / D)
Arrive at Yangon international airport. Meet and greet with your tour guide at arrival hall. Transfer to your hotel for refreshment.
Evening visit to Shwedagon Pagoda, world-famous; its golden stupa is the 'heart' of Buddhist Myanmar. The pagoda is believed to be 2,500 years old and the central stupa is surrounded by dozens of intricately decorated buildings and statues. There are always many Myanmar people praying and making offerings at the Shwedagon, and it's a fascinating place to spend time watching the world go by…
Overnight in Yangon
Day 2 : Yangon (B / L / D)
First visit to Chaukhtatgyi. It houses one of the most revered reclining Buddha images in the country. The Buddha image is 66 metres long, and one of the largest in Burma. Then, visit to Kandawgyi Royal Lake. It offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the best places to relax and take some great photos of Karaweik hall and across the lake towards the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda.
Drive through the heart of downtown Yangon and see the colonial style buildings, Mahabandula park with independent monument.
Then, enjoy lunch at local restaurant.
After that, drive to The Secretariat building for renovation tour. Your “insider’s” journey through The Secretariat Yangon will take you to see the stately interior of the historic Yangon Parliament House where Burma’s self-rule first began and the room where the assassination of General Aung San, the father of Modern Myanmar, was assassinated there together with six ministers, one deputy secretary and one body guard on 19th July 1947, as well as into other areas which are still under renovation. As you and your guide wind your way through the layers of history, you will see original teak wood details, soaring ceiling heights and the impressive double spiral iron staircase in the Central Wing/ South Wing of the complex. Be sure and bring your camera for private photos opportunities.
Explore the Botahtaung Pagoda and there have Buddha sacred hair relic. Continue sightseeing of Yangon, walk along Yangon River to see the busy harbour area, from where ferries leave for Pathein in the Delta and for upcountry towns along the Ayeyarwaddy River. Enjoy dinner at local restaurant.
