Day 1 : Kuala Lumpur - Malacca

We will be collected from Kuala Lumpur International Airport or our hotel and step back 600 years as we hit the road for a 2-hour scenic drive to Malacca.

Upon arrival, we check-in at the hotel, with the rest of the day at our leisure to explore our new surroundings at our own pace. Malacca sits at Malaysia’s historical heart and is dotted with heritage buildings, ancient landmarks and colonial structures. It was here that colonial forces first made contact with Malaysia, which helped to shape the country’s current economic and political system. Thanks to its rich history, modern Malacca is still home to relics left over from the British, Dutch and Portuguese in the form of forts, museums, churches and towers. Spend the afternoon strolling through the charming city, stopping to snack on the delicious array of street food available along the way.

Overnight at The Majestic Malacca.

Day 2 : Malacca (B / L / D)

After breakfast, we head out on an informative UNESCO Heritage walk. Highlights include Stadhuys, built by the Dutch in 1753 as the official residence of the Dutch governors, and St Paul’s Church where St. Francis Xavier was temporary buried before his body was moved to India. We then take a trishaw ride passing by old Dutch buildings, Sri PoyyathaVinayagar Moorthi Temple, Kampong Kling Mosque, and the oldest functioning Chinese temple in Malaysia, Cheng Hoon Teng.

For lunch, we sample authentic Nyonya cuisine, before boarding a boat for a leisurely river cruise. The rest of the afternoon is free before dinner at the famous Satay Celup. Satay Celup, or steamboat satay, originated in Malacca and sees an assortment of raw and semi-cooked seafood, meat and vegetables on skewers dunked into a boiling pot of water and eaten with sauces similar to Malay satay sauce but made with a variety of different ingredients.

Overnight at The Majestic Malacca.

Day 3 : Malacca – Kuala Lumpur (B / - / -)

After breakfast, we hit the road for a 2-hour return drive to the vibrant capital of Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival, we will visit Suria KLCC, famed as Malaysia’s premier shopping destination. The gleaming world-class complex features more than 300 specialty stores, plenty of dining spots, a sprawling park, symphonic water fountain, Aquaria KLCC oceanarium and Petronas Art Gallery.

We have some free time to hit the shops and eat some lunch before driving to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the afternoon and evening are free for us to immerse ourselves in Kuala Lumpur’s vibrant night life. To feast on street food, Jalan Alor is the place to be. It is packed full of seafood restaurants, hawker stalls and streetside vendors that serve up a tasty array of snacks. Snap up souvenirs at Petaling Night Market in Chinatown. Put on your haggling hat to get the best deals on the bags, clothes, watches and other items for sale.

Overnight at The Majestic Kuala Lumpur.

Day 4 : Kuala Lumpur – Ipoh (B / L / -)

After breakfast, we embark on a whistle-stop city tour of Kuala Lumpur’s main attractions before we hit the road to Ipoh. En-route, we stop for an authentic Hainanese chicken chop lunch in Tanjung Malim. This popular dish among Malaysians was created by Hainan people who migrated to Malaysia and features fried chicken served with lashings of gravy and chunky wedges.

We then continue on our journey to Ipoh, arriving at about 5 pm to check-in at the hotel with the rest of the evening at our leisure to explore the city. Charming Ipoh in Perak state is famed for its incredible sweeping landscapes, stunning temples and colonial architecture. It also holds the unofficial title of Malaysia’s second food capital and is awash with delicious dishes waiting to be savoured.

We arrive at Marina Island Lumut, and board another boat to luxurious Pangkor Laut Resort. Nestled amidst an ancient rainforest, on a private island fringed by white sandy beaches and emerald waters, the resort is a postcard-perfect paradise. After check-in, we have the rest of the day at our leisure to settle into laidback tropical island life. We can spend the afternoon relaxing in our simply sumptuous surroundings, kick back in the villas, which are exquisitely designed to blend traditional and contemporary local designs, take a dip in the pool or indulge in some pampering at the Spa Village. Dinner is at the resort.

Our trip begins with a speedboat ride to Pangkor Jetty, where our guide will take us on a short excursion across the compact island, home to about 25,000 islanders and popular for its idyllic beaches, vivid fishing boats and quality seafood produced by local cottage industries. The excursion includes a visit to the restored Dutch fort, a remnant of the island's Dutch colonial history, and Fu Lin Kung temple, a tranquil Taoist temple built into the hillside.Note: Available from Monday to Friday only.
