DAY 1 : ARRIVAL - LUANG PRABANG
We kick start this immersive five-day photography tour in charming UNESCO-crowned Luang Prabang.
Upon arrival in the former royal capital, we check-in to the hotel, with the rest of the day free to explore our surroundings before dinner.
Luang Prabang is a stunning town that has kept true to tradition while embracing the modern world. This compact destination is packed full of ornate temples, artisan workshops and historic buildings. It is also surrounded by pristine natural beauty that takes in jungle, sweeping farmland, cascading waterfalls and ancient caves waiting to be explored.
We recommend climbing the town’s highest hill, Mount Phousi, in time for sunset. The 300 steps are rewarded with a splendid vista of the town and the countryside sprawling below. Settle into life in Laos’ beating spiritual heart on this excellent adventure.

DAY 2 : LUANG PRABANG – KUANG SI WATERFALLS – BAN PHANOM COTTON VILLAGE – BAN CHAN POTTERY VILLAGE – PETANQUE (B / L / D)
Capture Laos’ breath-taking natural beauty on this absorbing tour. At 7.30 am, we transfer by minivan on a 45-minute drive to Kuang Si Waterfalls. A short jungle jaunt leads us to these striking three-tiered falls, which cascade into clear pools of water that are perfect for a refreshing dip. Wildlife lovers will be in their element as we head to a bear sanctuary founded by the Free the Bears Foundation. This facility has rescued hundreds of bears from the clutches of illegal practices.
After a tasty lunch at Carpe Diem restaurant, we return to town, stopping at Ban Phanom to watch traditional cotton weaving processes. In Luang Prabang, we board a ferry across the Mekong River to Ban Chan, a village that has been producing pottery by hand for over 400 years. At 5.50 pm, we work up an appetite challenging locals to a game of petanque, ahead of dinner at a local Restaurant. Today’s immersive itinerary highlights the magic of this amazing country.

DAY 3 : LUANG PRABANG - TAK BAT – FREE TIME (B / - / -)
Discover Luang Prabang’s unique charm at your own pace with a free day. After breakfast, we have the day at our leisure to hit the streets with our cameras to capture the town’s colonial and religious heritage. We recommend heading to Wat Xieng Thong. Also known as the Golden City Temple, this 16th century complex is adorned in ornate coloured glass and it is the town’s most beautiful temple and a site where past kings were crowned. Wat Mai is one of Luang Prabang’s most richly-decorated temples, coated in black and red lacquer detail and gold leaf.
Round out the day with another serene sunset from Mount Phousi, before taking a stroll through the lively night market to barter for souvenirs. Spend the day discovering Luang Prabang at your leisure.

LDAY 4 : LUANG PRABANG – INSIDE THE HEART OF ELEPHANTS – 4 PAX MAX (B / L / -)
Take a walk on the wild side on a jungle jaunt alongside magnificent elephants. At 7.45 am, we drive to the nearby village of Xieng Lom to visit Mandalao Elephant Conservation sanctuary. Upon arrival, we receive an informative introduction and cruise across the Nam Khan River to see the elephants. We will be introduced to the animals and feed them special treats before we follow the gentle giants on their travels. This truly incredible trek sees us walk alongside the mighty beasts as we pass rice fields and head into the forest where we can relax and enjoy a Laotian-style lunch.
Don’t forget your bathers as we can take a dip at Tad Kuang Song Waterfall, ahead of visiting a small Khmu village to learn about this ethnic group’s unique customs. We then continue to the elephants’ nighttime feeding grounds, followed by the return to the hotel. Dinner is to our own account. Forge truly unforgettable memories on this incredible excursion.

DAY 5 : LUANG PRABANG – DEPARTURE (B / - / -)
Capture some final fantastic images before bidding a fond farewell to beautiful Laos.
After breakfast at the hotel, we may have some free time before we are collected from the hotel lobby and transferred to the airport for our onward flight.
We leave full of fond memories of adventures that have seen us discover Luang Prabang’s heritage and culture, go wild on nature treks to waterfalls and get up close to bears and elephants. We have also met local artisans and learned about the unique customs and cultures of the area’s varied ethnic tribes. We have also had a day to explore the town and its surroundings at our leisure.
Upon arrival at the airport, we say goodbye to our guide and board the plane with cameras full of photos of this incredible adventure. This concludes our memorable five-day photography adventure capturing Laos’ rich nature and spirituality.
