DAY 1 : OUDOMXAY – NAM KAT YORLA PA RESORT

Step straight into serene nature at luxurious Nam Kat Yorla Pa Resort.

Upon arrival in the lush province of Oudomxay by plane from Vientiane, car from Dien Bien Phu, or Luang Prabang, we take a scenic drive to the resort.

This location is perfect for those seeking a slice of solace in the heart of nature, the stunning property is nestled amid verdant farmland and rolling jungle-clad hills. As well as basking in breath-taking natural beauty, the resort offers guests an authentic glimpse into local heritage, drawing heavily from the region’s architectural and cultural influences. Luxurious rooms range from impressive pool villas through to superior and deluxe options. The resort is also home to a spa that offers a range of rejuvenating treatments and a restaurant that serves delicious local delights. Sink into relaxation mode and enjoy Laos’ pristine nature at its finest.

DAY 2 : HALF DAY CYCING, TREKKING, SKY BRIDGES, WATERFALL (TT03) (B / L / -)

We get the adrenaline pumping on today’s action-packed adventure that combines cycling, trekking and waterfalls.

At 8 am we jump on our bikes and set off on a 5-km ride through the lush landscapes this province is famed for to Phou Hiphi National Conservation Forest, home to a wealth of exotic plants and wildlife, thick jungle and rugged terrain. From here, we continue by foot on a 20-minute jungle jaunt, stopping to spot the rare flora and fauna we pass by as we make our way to cascading Namkat Waterfall.

After working up an appetite, we enjoy lunch on the banks of the falls before time to enjoy our pristine surroundings and take a refreshing dip in the cool pools of water. We then return to the resort. Get active and discover Laos’ wild side on this excellent adventure. 

Dinner is leisure on own account.

DAY 3 : NAM KAT YORLA PA RESORT – MUANG KHUA – NONG KHIAW  (B / L / D) 

Take to the water on one of the region’s most scenic cruises along the iconic Nam Ou River. After breakfast at the resort, we check-out and take a two-and-a-half-hour road journey to Muang Khua. Upon arrival in this rustic riverside town, we board a boat and embark on an idyllic journey to the charming town of Nong Khiaw.

Our incredible cruise passes through breath-taking landscapes of dramatic limestone cliffs rising from the water’s edge, tropical jungle, vast farmland and quaint rural villages.

We enjoy lunch on board before arriving at Nam Ou 3 Dam, where we jump on dry land and take a 2-km tuk-tuk ride to a second similar boat for the last leg of our travel to Nong Khiaw. We then check-in at Mandala Ou Resort in time for dinner. Get lost in more striking landscapes on picturesque winding waterways.

Please note: The luggage will be taken care of by the boat crew.

DAY 4 : NONG KHIAW – PAK OU – LUANG PRABANG (B / - / -) 

Experience Laos’ cultural heritage as we explore Pak Ou’s sacred caves. At 9 am, we set off on the final day of this compact four-day northern escape. Enjoy the scenery as we drive to Pak Ou. We will pass through villages, farmland and towns, giving us the chance to view locals carrying out their daily chores. Our final destination is Tham Ting and Tham Phoum. These highly-revered caverns house hundreds of Buddha statues and welcome thousands of religious pilgrims each year.

After spending some time exploring this intriguing subterranean world, we enjoy lunch at leisure and then board a boat to the charming UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang where we transfer to the hotel. This concludes our intrepid four-day escape in the wilderness.
