Day 1 : Bogota
Arrival in Bogota. Meeting at the airport with a guide and transfer to hotel.
After check in, the day is free of your leisure.
Day 2 : Bogota
After breakfast you’ll have panoramic City Tour through the historical center of Bogota, also called "La Candelaria". We will visit the Gold Museum, where we will see nearly 34,000 pre-Hispanic gold pieces and more than 25,000 pre-Columbian objects. Afterward, we will visit the Casa de la Moneda and Donation Botero where art pieces of the master Fernando Botero, are exhibited. Botero is a Colombian artist internationally recognized in different artistic techniques such as painting, drawing, and sculpture.
The tour will end with a panoramic tour of the Plaza de Bolívar (The Prime Cathedral, The House of Nariño, The Liévano Palace and The Palace of Justice). Ascent to Monserrate (with a panoramic view of the city from this beautiful dead volcano).
In the evening, return to the hotel.
Day 3 : Bogota – Cartagena
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the Sacred Lagoon of Guatavita and the Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral. A complete circuit passing through the so-called “Sabana de Bogotá” and visiting Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral as the first destination. This Cathedral is one of the main tourist sites in Colombia, cataloged as the first wonder of Colombia built 180 meters deep in a salt mine. Afterwards, we will go to the Sacred Lagoon of Guatavita, known historically and worldwide by the legend of "El Dorado".
In the evening transfer to the Dorado International Airport to take the flight to Cartagena.
Day 4 : Cartagena
Breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic tour in private transport unit equipped with air conditioning. Visit to the residential neighborhoods of Bocagrande, Castillogrande and Manga. Arrive at the Cima de la Popa, where you will have a complete city view. Guided visit to the convent and church. We will continue to the San Felipe de Barajas Castle, the most important military engineering work of Spain in America in the colony time and which protected the city from pirate attacks.
At the end of this visit, return to the hotel along Santander Avenue where you will appreciate the bastions and walls of the historic center. Visit to the craft center Las Bóvedas.
Day 5 : Isla del Rosario
Breakfast at the hotel. Assistance at the hotel and transfer to the Bodeguita pier to take a speedboat that will take us to the Rosario islands (approx. 45 min) appreciating a panoramic view of the Bay of Cartagena and Bocachica. Similarly we will admire a beautiful landscape with the forts of San Fernando and San José. After navigating along the Island of Barú you will arrive at the base Island in the Rosario Islands to enjoy its crystal clear waters. Free time to enjoy the sea and the facilities.
In the afternoon return to Cartagena. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 6 : Cartagena – Medellin
After breakfast you’ll have transfer to the airport for your flight to Medellin. Upon arrivel start city tour.
We will go by Willy’s Jeep car, What does it mean to talk about Pablo Escobar in Medellín? In this experience, we will answer this great question, learn about the importance of memory, and reconstruct the vision of drug trafficking in Medellin from the perspective of its victims. Through the visit to the scenarios that witnessed what happened, like the neighborhoods that were meeting places for criminal life, the unit responsible for fighting criminal acts, the gallery of the famous San Pedro cemetery, and the Casa de la Memoria Museum, we will collect the stories of the victims of the massive attacks and selective assassinations. through this experience you will add to a change of collective consciousness, bringing a new message of memory and reflection on narco-terrorism in Colombia.
In the afternoon City Tour + Comuna 13 Tour. Visit to the main sites of the city such as the San Antonio Park, San Ignacio Square, Avenida La Playa, Parque de Las Esculturas, which hosts more than 20 sculptures donated by Master Fernando Botero, Parque de los Deseos and the Atanasio Girardot Sports Unit, as well as the remodeled Convention Center La Macarena former bullring. Additionally, the traditional Pueblito Paisa will be visited. Later they will go to the Poblado area, where we will visit the Parque del Poblado, Parque Lleras and the Golden Mile, the financial and hotel heart of the city.
The visit continues to Comuna 13 of Medellín. There we will enjoy a grafitti tour highlighting the social transformation of the area. These murals have been made by different artists from the area, where they reveal the stories that move and inspire hope. The tour ends with a visit to the iconic Electric Stairs of Comuna 13.
Return to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 7 : Medellin – Pereira
After breakfast in the hotel you’ll have transfer to Pereira. Upon arrival to Pereira you’ll have “Coffee Experience” excursion.
We start our tour to the Coffee Farm El Ocaso for “cofee-experience”, located about 1,500 meters above sea level in volcanic soils of the Central Mountain Range of the Colombian Andes. The tour begins in the company of a local expert who will take the tourists through the process of coffee planting, selective manual harvesting and pulping. After this, we will roast specialty coffee beans on a wood fire in the kitchen of the typical country house where we can have an authentic coffee experience. During the tour, we have several stations with beautiful views of the natural environment of the place while we enjoy our cup of coffee.
Finally, we will observe the process of drying the coffee beans and then to the processing plant, ending up at the main house where we will have a delicious coffee lemonade.
Day 8 : Pereira
As option we can start early morning (departure at 5 am) for flight in a hot air balloon over the waking up magic coffee valley (cost 900$ p/p).
After breakfast in the hotel we’ll go to the Salento and Cócora Valley.
Later the journey to Valle del Cócora will begin, appreciating the landscape of this place. Once we arrive at the Valley, we will have a welcome cocktail (Canelazo) and assistance from a specialized eco-guide from Cócora who will make an introduction to the Cócora Natural Reserve. Hiking time, transfer to the palm forest where we can appreciate the biodiversity of fauna and flora of the place where we will take the ecological path of the highest wax palm in the world and national flagship tree, where we will do the ritual of the wax palm of Quindío; which it consists of knowing the history of how the aborigines worshiped this palm. Then, the planting of palm seedlings continues.
In the Valley you can do optional activities such as ecological horseback riding, walks to exclusive and very special places in the valley, have a delicious typical lunch in a restaurant in the Cócora Valley (Not Included) and have a barista show of origin coffee in the Salento town at Café Jesús Martín. Transfer to the typical town of Salento where we will have a walking tour visiting its colonial streets, artisan workshops, and the viewpoint of Cocora. At the agreed time, transfer to the hotel.
Day 9 : Pereira – Bogota
After breakfast in the hotel you’ll have transfer to the airport for your flight to Bogota. Upon arrival self transition for international flight to go home.
