Day 1 : Arrival in Fortaleza and transfer to Taíba (- / - / -)

On landing in Fortaleza, a guide and vehicle will be ready and waiting to assist. From here, you will drive onward to Carmel Taíba Exclusive Resort. Located in a sleepy fishing village on Praia da Taíba, 75km away from the hustle and bustle of Fortaleza, this resort is the perfect oasis of tranquillity. Stretch out in the temperate coastal climate and let the sea breezes carry you off to a calmer existence.

Carved into the cliff, the resort has been engineered to seem as though it perches effortlessly over the waves. That makes for a spectacular panorama both inside and out: most of the resort’s villas come with stunning ocean views and plush, luxurious furnishings. We will make sure that the room is specially decorated for the first night. You will even be treated to a bottle of champagne, which is yours to enjoy as you sit among the palm trees at sunset. Day 3 : From Taíba to Trairi (B / - / -)

On the morning of day 3, your driver and vehicle will be ready and waiting to begin the scenic one-and-a-half-hour journey to the coastal haven of Trairi. While driving up the beach, you can feast your eyes on the shoreline and take a pitstop halfway for a cooling drink and a swim. Before you know it, you’ll have arrived: your home for the next three nights is the charming Zorah Beach Hotel, a seaside resort oozing tropical zen.

Ideally located on Guajiru beach, this Indian-owned hotel takes conceptual inspiration from Asia and the tropics. The decor is tasteful and intricate, complete with authentic trinkets, sculptures and furnishings from as far afield as Bali, India and the Middle East. The hotel’s rooms are quietly opulent, with a balcony, sun terrace, king size bed and even private pool in the top categories, all surrounded by foliage to make your stay feel secluded and personal. Day 4 : Experimenting tropical waters in Trairi (B / - / -)

Today you have a full day to relax with your loved one in this glorious environment. The warm waters that extend over the coastline of Trairi are ideal for bathing, as are the natural pools that form at low tide. For the more adventurously inclined, the sea is also great for all kinds of water sports. And when it comes to dinnertime, you can enjoy delicious fresh catch fished straight from these waters.

Day 5 : Stress-relieving massage and romantic dinner (B / - / D)

During a third day of indulgence in Trairi, enjoy the soothing effects of a traditional massage. Using a combination of oils, heated herbs and sensitive lighting, this holistic relaxation therapy is specially designed to ease day-to-day muscle strain and provide a restorative relief from tension.

Come evening, you can enjoy a truly memorable gastronomic encounter in the form of a romantic dinner on the smooth white beach. Enjoy the romance of personal service and fresh food to the sound of the waves lapping the sand.

Day 6 : From Trairi to Jericoacoara via the beach trails (B / - / -)

Today is the day: after breakfast, buckle up for an adventurous jaunt up the coast to the picture-perfect shores of Jericoacoara. This full-day transfer combines around 80km of beach driving, two short ferry crossings and 120km on dirt or asphalt road. But it’s not all journeying: this is a fun and scenic way to explore the coastline between the two destinations. At high tide, it is possible to take an optional boat trip through the mangrove of the

Aracatiaçu River, and there is always time for a shady picnic lunch on the beach in Almofala. Your guide will give you an insight into the local customs and way of life, turning the transfer into a whole Brazilian adventure of its own.

On arrival, check in to Casana on Preá Beach, 14km from Jericoacoara village. Besides the peace and tranquillity of a heavenly beach, this serene stretch of coast offers easy access to Jericoacoara National Park. A jewel of the Northeast, the park’s rolling white dunes and crystalline waters are famed the world over. Your new base is a sumptuous hotel that ticks all the boxes for luxury: Egyptian cotton sheets, automatic curtains and private infinity pools are just some of the perks that come with this establishment. This tour of the nearby Lagoa Azul and Lagoa do Paraíso will explore two picturesque and dazzlingly clear lagoons. Many consider Lagoa Azul to be one of the most spectacular lagoons in the world, with tranquil waters that morph from translucent emerald into dark blue as the depth of water varies. The pleasant temperature of the water and beautifully peaceful surroundings make swimming here bliss. From Lagoa Azul, head to Lagoa do Paraíso (Paradise Lagoon), another ideal spot for swimming with a couple of excellent nearby restaurants to satisfy your well-earned appetite.

The day begins to draw to a close but your tour is not over yet: to round the adventure off in style, guests are treated to a surprise sunset picnic at one last lagoon a little more off the beaten track. There’s plenty of time to reminisce over the romance of the past few days and create lifelong memories as you enjoy your sundowner.

Day 8 : Enjoying Jericoacoara’s natural beauty (B / L / D)

Having hosted the GKA Kitesurf World Tour in 2018, Preá is a well-known watersporting hotspot. Casana’s very own kitesurf lounge offers professionals and amateurs alike everything from IKO-certified equipment and courses to an energizing bowl of açaí before setting sail. No need to worry if you are not so keen on kitesurfing: Casana offers a wide range of other activities and excursions to explore the surroundings.

Ceará’s clear skies and proximity to the equator offer ideal conditions for a night of stargazing. Guests are taken to a secluded location at the end of the afternoon, where champagne is served while the sun sinks below the horizon. As the sky gradually darkens, a dazzling display of constellations, galaxies and shooting stars will present itself for guests’ enjoyment.

Day 9 : Homeward bound (B / - / -)

On the last day of the tour, a driver will be on hand at the required time for a transfer from the hotel to the airport for onward flights. Bid farewell to the Ceará coast at the end of an unforgettable romantic retreat.
