OVERVIEW
This journey begins in Yangon, where visitors are introduced to the city's heritage through guided walks exploring iconic sites, markets, and vibrant alleyways. The trip continues to Bagan, where ancient temples, pagodas, and local crafts provide insight into Myanmar’s rich history and culture. After exploring the village life around Mount Popa, the tour proceeds to Mandalay, showcasing religious monuments, traditional crafts, and scenic viewpoints. The experience extends to Inle Lake, known for its unique leg-rowing fishermen, floating gardens, and cultural sites.
Day 1 : Yangon
Upon arrival at Yangon Airport you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Your afternoon tour starts with a leisurely walk starting from the Bogalazay Street, an area rich in heritage buildings. We view one of Yangon’s most iconic public buildings, the Secretariat where General Aung San was assassinated in 1947. We then stroll along Bogalazay Street, a thoroughfare that is a major focus of restoration work to return it to its former glory.
After browsing a local market, we take a trip down one of the city’s neglected alleyways that has been transformed into an area of vibrancy, with new street art, murals and potted greenery improvements that have brought the locals back on the street to meet and play.
In the afternoon, we continue to visit the magnificent reclining Buddha at ChaukHtat Gyi Pagoda; and an extended visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, Shwedagon Pagoda.

Day 2 : Yangon – Bagan (B / L / D)
After breakfast, we fly to Bagan airport and we head to a colourful local market upon arrival. We then continue the day’s exploration with visits to Bagan’s most significant shrines including Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century; Shwe Gu Gyi Pagoda; Ananda Temple with its four magnificent standing Buddha images.
After lunch which is served at Sanon restaurant, we learn about Myanmar’s most treasured handicrafts with a visit to a lacquerware craftsman’s workshop. Next are Manuha Temple, built in a Mon-style in 1059; and Nanbaya Temple, a unique sandstone monument which, according to legends, used to be the palace site of King Manuha. We then continue our visits to antiquities such as the site of Tayokepyay Temple in Min Nan Thu village, Phaya Thone Zu and Nandamanya temples before
Dinner is served at local restaurant.

Day 3 : Bagan – Mount Popa (B / L / D)
After breakfast we check out from the hotel heading to Magyikan village where we meet the village leaders who will explain us about the village and how they started the CBT project. We then take a stroll through villages along the small shady village roads passing plantations and villages. Stop by at brick factory and enjoy seeing how a family run business operates in Myanmar.
We then drive back to Bagan and en route, we visit you will arrive to Shin Pin Sarkyo where the King Anawratha welcomed the teaching text of Buddha from lower Burma in the 11th century and the five pagodas built by five brothers.
A local home cooked lunch will be prepared for you by villagers at a long leg local house build for the CBT project of the village.
We then embark our drive to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano 1,518 metres above sea level, with spectacular views of the sprawling plains. This is a popular pilgrimage destination for those who worship various animist spirits known as nats. A total of 777 steps lead to the shrine atop Taungkalat peak.

Day 4 : Mount Popa – Mandalay (B / L / D)
After an early breakfast we drive to Mandalay (approximately 255 km – 4 hours) through varied scenic agricultural landscapes and villages.
After lunch at a local restaurant we experience the sights and sounds of Mandalay including some of its most revered religious monuments including the Golden Palace Monastery, a superb example of a traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda which contains the world’s largest book made from 729 slabs of marble inscribed with Buddhist scripts. Mandalay is also a major crafts centre and we visit a Kalaga tapestries craftsman’s shop before heading to Mandalay Hill to view the sublime sunset. We then transfer to hotel.

Day 5 : Mandalay (B / L / D)
After breakfast we visit the Mahamuni Pagoda and Shwe Inbin Monastery on the way to Amarapura, a former royal capital near Mandalay. First stop is Mahagandayon, a famous Buddhist monastery that is home to over 1,000 monks. Then we head to the ancient U Bein teak bridge. Next is a traditional hand-woven silk workshop, followed by Bagaya Monastery with its superb collection of Buddha statues.
In the afternoon we reach the former royal capital of Inwa. Then a horse-drawn carriage will convey us to Nanmyint Watch Tower, known as ‘the leaning tower of Ava’ and the Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery built of brick and stucco Our varied tour proceeds to Bargayar Monastery, which is famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak pillars.
Finally, the perfect tour ends with a trip up Sagaing Hill to enjoy a magnificent sunset view of Sagaing Hill and Irrawaddy River. In the evening, experience the performances of traditional Myanmar dance and music in a contemporary setting from 8:00- 9:00pm at The Mintha Theatre.

Day 6 : Mandalay – Inle Lake (B / L / D)
After breakfast, we drive through lush landscapes (approximately – 5 hours) to Nyaung Shwe and then transfer to your hotel.

Overnight in Inle lake.
Day 7 : Inle Lake (B / L / D)
After breakfast, see the famous one-leg rowers, local markets, ingenious methods of fishing, rustic, rural village life and stupendous views of the magnificent mountain scenery. Highlights include visits to Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, Nga PhaeKyaung Monastery, which has an impressive collection of antique Buddha images and a local market where indigenous people sell their hand-crafted items.
We boat to travel by boat to Tha Le Oo. The residents of the village belong to Inn Tha and Pao ethnic minority groups. They are well known for their farming skills and use organic methods to produce abundant crops. During the winter season their harvested sugar cane is sent to an on-site facility where the juice is extracted, made into molasses and sent to the city for usein the production of Mandalay Rum. You will follow an agro trail that runs from the lake through the village and the surrounding organic farmland in a wide looping curve back to the lake.
In the afternoon, we cruise to the western shore of the lake to a stairway leading to the Indein Pagoda complex. This consists of hundreds of small stupas overgrown with moss and greenery and forgotten in time.
Lunch is at Inthar Heritage Restaurant and dinner is served at hotel.
Overnight in Inle Lake.
Day 8 : Inle Lake – Yangon (B / - / -)
After breakfast we fly to Yangon. Upon arrival if we have time, we proceed to the Karaweik Hall, a barge on Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake a photo stop at the ornate Karaweik Palace.
We then view the replica of a royal barge on Kandawgyi Lake. We head to Bogyoke (Scott's) Market (closed on Monday and public holidays).
Afterwards we transfer to Yangon Airport for your international departure.
